I love the geta! Japanese Geta shoes can be walked with your foot on a diagonal, toes pointing down like with a high heel. They were worn to be like platform shoes, but usually with the two bars on the bottom for stability! Smol lesson in not-weird cultural shoes ♥

I'm surprised that wish is selling those Japanese shoes as that is not really the type of thing you're think they sell. It's more of the thing you would get from a physical shop in Japan.

I have seen Japanese people wear those shoes though. They are called Tengu/Ippon Geta, they are mostly reserved for dancers, actors, festivals and costumes. It takes a lot of practice to be able to wear them. The single thin tooth geta also appear in a lot in Japanese mythology.

Nope that's actually a legit pair. People in the Heian Era wore them and actually some are much higher than that. You can check Mononoke Hime, a Ghibli animation as a reference. ☺

If I remember correctly from botany, fruits are the ovaries of the plant, so tomatoes, squash, peppers, etc. Veggies are everything else, like carrots, rhubarb, and celery. So i believe an ear of corn would be a fruit, but the corn kernal itself would be a seed/grain. Crazy stuff.

Never in my life have I had to wait so long for wish products until now. I assume it’s because of the corona virus stuff but before I waited max 2 months and now I’m going on 4 months waiting for a baby onesie for my baby that is due next month... lmfao

In my experience, Wish is really nice about returns and refunds. I'm sure their customer service will be kind about the delay considering the time restrictions in baby clothes sizing and pregnancy. Also, congrats!

My experience with wish was horrible they will not refund my money that they removed from my account I needed that money to survive I ordered 79 dollars worth of merchandise from wish and they removed the 357 for my bank account I am now going to food pantries to try to get food to feed myself because wish play me out I'm on SSDI damn how do they get away with this

Those Geta (japanese sandals) are called Ipponba-geta (or Ipponha-geta), which means sandals with one tooth (sounds funny though!). People used to wear them when they had performed traditional acfobatic feats, showing their well balanced skills, several centuries ago. yes, those are more popular for cosplay nowadays! But they are really comforttable once you get used to balancing, some people in Japan are wearing them when they go to grocery or convenience store near their house. It's funny because these are easier to walk rather than to stand alone.

The most practical shoes were the mop slippers. They're similar to a dry mop that I use on my floors now. They're probably washable, so just throw them in the washer when they get dirty. I might get a pair to use on my floors, and make dry mopping not so much a chore. (Jan Griffiths).

Yeah they exist they're called ippon geta or tengu geta though only dancer's use them i think..? Anyway they require a lot of practice but they're a thing.

Amanda, yes you can actually..if you go to customer support you can talk to a virtual assistant and they will ask what happened with the order. It didnt come they will just ask if you want the money refunded or if you just want wish cash instantly, and if there is a damage, sometimes they will have you take a picture and send it in, but again, you can either wait for a refund to your card or get instant wish cash :)

In ancient India people had wooden slippers called Paduka which was mostly worn by the elders . It’s a very old tradition of wearing wooden slippers. But it is only some countries that keep their tradition alive. It’s only a matter of time when certain things return back in culture and we then call it modern. I found the best place to right about this because she talks about the Japanese wooden slippers
