As a Swede who loves salty liquorish (or salmiak) I actually have a jar of straight up salmiak salt on my pantry because the candy I buy - even "Svenskjävlar" (Swedish devils), one of the saltiest candy you can find - isn't salty enough. It's also delicious on lemon curd, a tangy sorbet, or in baking. Thankfully I have very low blood pressure so I can eat liquorish every single day.
there is 2 diffrent variants of licorice chalk , Fazer ,Malaco in sweden and my personal favorite is Malaco`s before it has an more stronger minty/licorice afterthaste.
In America we have tiny bottles with liquid called nik-l-nips, you’re supposed to bite the top off and drink the juice and not eat the wax, I hope that’s not the case with the one you ate lol
