The Dr says this is transphobia and desirability, which may be true but all this can be traced back to low self-esteem. It may seem counterintuitive, so I’ll explain. When you have a very low sense of self worth you look for something outside yourself to help boost you up or to make you feel whole on the inside. Think of the times when you’ve had bad luck, and then rationalize it to yourself by saying “at least it’s not as bad as XYZ”. Same concept. What TS and her friend are doing is tearing down someone who is not conventionally attractive to bolster themselves up, to give themselves those feel good chemicals. Ms. Netta is unfortunately an easy target for people who’ve gussied themselves up on the outside but still have a boatload of work to do on the inside. This is why they say be careful around those who talk badly of others. More than likely they are ‘empty’ or insecure on the inside and they’d tear you to shreads push come to shove, to make themselves feel better about themselves.
