TS chip in my 97 ccsb OBS for 8 years and keep it on 100 hp setting... Towing and everyday driving... With the automatic. No issues. The 100 hp settings seems to get the best mileage and the best Transmission shift points ... And is why I keep it on that setting.
GAUGES BEFORE POWER ADDERS. PERIOD! Even though I'm sure he didn't damage anything for what little time he was heavy on the throttle, that 140 HP setting will raise EGT's FAST... you really need to keep an eye on it, thus you must have at the minimum an EGT gauge. Then trans temp, then a boost gauge if you want one. With stock internals, the 7.3 will run safely for long periods under 1,250 degrees Fahrenheit with the probe installed in the exhaust manifold and short times above that temperature, but play it safe and stay under. Also, don't bother installing the gauge in the downpipe. Some aftermarket DP's come with a bung already but just do it right and drill/tap the driver's side manifold. It's easy. Of course you'll never see the full additional 140 horsepower as claimed but you'd come close with all the supporting mods such as fuel pump and the Ford Severe Duty intake system to name a couple. Having said all that, TS is a decent chip but it's a canned tune. There are better choices for around the same money or not much more. More power is always more fun, but one must always prepare for it with gauges and the right mindset else you may soon be left with a truck that's found on the road dead.
Trumps a liar, lies about everything. What's he hiding in his taxes? Mueller report says he obstructed 10 times and would have more if the people he told to obstruct further had done what he told them to. Everyone who got caught in lies, all lied about same thing, Russia/Trump communications.
@@mattcanfield6384 No such chance, that clown digs himself deeper every day. He is going to jail. His biggest mistake is that he thinks everyone is a fool.
@@markusgarvey A motor is a device that generates rotational force. An engine is exclusively powered by expansion but a motor can be either one. A quick Google search would tell you that.
In his defense it could have been 2 different videos and the part where hes talking about it was before he put tow mirrors and then he filmed the burnout video after tow mirrors. If you look at videos 5 years ago you can see he has tow mirrors on it with his skis on the back. (Btw he has a fuck load of videos so its gonna take a while to find it but its there)
great chip. made my 7.3 a lot quicker. It was a little hard on my trans though. might want to rebuild your 4r100 if your up at 200,000 miles like I am. But great chip, still a great buy!
I just put it on my late 99 f250 4x4 6sp. Big difference. I leave it on tow mode. Thats plenty of a improvement for me. My only thing i dislike is when i shift it seems to hold the rpms in stead of letting the rpms drop immediately when i let off the thottle to shift.
Can't believe you guys are rolling around in spotless 7.3L Power Strokes. My 2002 F-250 Super Duty that I special ordered brand new in October 2001 that currently March 2018 has almost 176,000 miles is falling apart here in the Midwest from almost 16 1/2 years use. This truck is rusted to shit and things are going wrong right and left at this point. Currently besides all the rust, I have driveshaft U-joints going out and I think I have a bad injector. When you first start the truck it pours white/blue smoke out the tailpipe for the first 10-20 or so seconds. I think I am leaking fuel down into the cylinder while parked. Two Summers ago in July-August 2016 I did new injector cups and injector o-rings. I did glowplugs, water pump, starter, aux alternator, belt, tensionor and idle pulleys, turbo pedestal o- rings, degas bottle, coolant flush and fill, new IPR sensor, air filter, engine block fuel supply lines, fuel filter and a whole shitload of other things. Driving a truck this old is starting to get costly these days as I know I am looking at between $5,000 -$8,000 worth of body, bed and door damage from severe rust. Chip or tune this old STOCK truck? HaHaHa.....I just want it to last at least another 4 -5 years. I wouldn't waste my money modifying things only to prematurely roast this engine or hurt the tranny or rear end. You are only going to tear something up as these trucks were never designed to run like this. You fellers can do what you want......especially that Yooper ^^ up there....LOL What a hoser.....eeeaaaahhh?! John USA
hey i have one of these chips i get the best miles on 75 hp i now have dual 4" turbo back with a k&n filter and fuel pressure spring mine will boil 36" tires into 2nd gear i love the chip
!!wow!! i just installed TS 6 position chip on my 2000 7.3 powerstroke at the100hp setting what a different monster holy shit...i can't wait to up grade the turbo & 4" exhaust also S&B cold air intake
love the coal, I actually was just in Ottawa a couple hours ago and blew some black smoke in my vw diesel and the person behind me put there hazards on for about 10-12 seconds while following me, I guess they didnt get the message to stop tailgating me...
I have the same one but when it goes into 3 gear if I'm into the throttle it hits so dam hard i thought i dropped my transmission the first time and a few times since, what i found was back off the fuel when your going into that gear its fine now, i have put the 3 inch turn down into a 4 inch straight pipe, open the air box and this programmer and it rocks big time.
Reading the dyno chart for this engine inspires the question of why would you want to raise the shift points out of the range of rpm where it makes the most torque?
How has the transmission been? I've had one of these on my 2002 7.3l for a year now, just curious cause I drive my truck lightly for fuel economy but I like to have fun with it every once in a while and get on the pedal. I have even towed with it and it runs great, but I am just curious as you have had it on longer.
I have this chip in are truck 2000 7.3 if you really want to make it turn on and keep your EGTs down Install the wicked wheel 2 also install big boost and the K&N Cold air intake and you think the 140 was a big Gain in horsepower do that MOD to it and you’ll shit your pants and keep your EGTs down that little modification it adds almost 75hp and it’s a noticeable difference with out the chip!! And no turbo stall Then there’s a Fuel up grade you also can do I have done them all in my trucks a weapon Dino horse power it lays down the well over 500 horse 790 foot pounds of torque with minimal modifications done to the transmission by changing the valve body and using the 04 6 L transmission cooler when you do these upgrades are going to think of your driveline or she’ll spit a tranny pretty quick it’s also good idea to install a transmission temperature gauge I am also a fellow Canadian what part of Canada are you from I’m in Ontario
I will be buying that next week for my 99 f350 dually. One question i have a 6 speed with a granny low so I'm guessing shift points are not a concern. How do these chips help a manual trans truck?
they dont. at all does nothing, still usually tries to talk to the trans but wont. i run sct tunes in my 6oh and it retuns the trns everythime but dosnt actually do anything lol im running ZF6 as well
Installed the TS 6pos chip in my 2001 7.3 totally different beast and believe it or not it is easy to do over 105mph, to were before it was a fucking dog.
"That aint no smoke Cummins all the way" Well sorry you cant just turn the fuelpump all the way up on a 7.3 in 2 seconds with a screw driver... its alittle harder than that...
What all have you done to your truck? I have an 03 Ford F250 7.3l. I just bought this chip and will be installing it soon. If I can get mine to blow smoke like yours I will be happy. I have only done a cat back exhaust though.
lol, not sure, I have so much into it I can never get my money back, I probably have 50K into it with all teh r and d i have done, not including my time!
I have a 99 F350 with the ZF-6 transmission. 368,000 miles. I am mostly after better milage (this is my daily, and tow rig for my camper and race car hauler). I drive like a granny, but a bit better efficiency would be nice. Should I purchase this chip for my truck?
I have a late 99 f250 4x4 with the zf6.. I have been running the chip for about a month. I leave it on the tow tune and that has picked up my mileage some. May be better on the daily setting from what i hear.. But im happy with the tow tune myself. My only dislike is it hold the rpms between shifts a little longer instead of letting them drop immediately when i shift. But other wise i like it.
Old video BUT... towing with the TS chip on the 100HP setting killed my 7.3 in 2 years. Even watching the EGTs constantly, took 2 years but #7 burnt all the way through and EVERY PISTON IS CRACKED. No good. It's not all about fuel and EGTs.. but also timing advance.
Driving my truck for 16 1/2 years STOCK killed my truck. Don't know what all you other goons are going to do with a bunch of mods to OLD trucks like ours.....
Your not supposed to tow on a 100hp setting. Thats why you have the 25-50 hp tow settings depending on weight. Its amazing it didn’t let go well before that towing on the hot tune.
Get your air mods (intake, exhaust) taken care of before you throw more fuel at it and you will be set! A diesel can never be "lean" unlike a gas motor where the mix is always an issue
dodgecummins12v is right. It may not make that much of a difference on his stock truck. My truck has injectors, exhaust, turbo, and all else necessary to make the optimum performance out of a chip. I have a TS 6 but mine is running Beans Custom Tunes and I can feel 140+ hp.
PowerModz is this safe to daily drive with a stock auto trans? I really don't want to shorten the life of or fry it because I bought the truck with a brand new trans in it, what's the best setting for mpg?
So i bought a truck with one kf these chips, but my knob positions dont seem to be the same... Like if i rotate mine all the way to the right i get high idle, from there i have no clue
do you still have the chip? i was wondering if it still works good, and if you have any engine problems after you got it. im looking for a chip for my f-250 and i have heard many good things about this chip.
I have a 6.0 L 2006 ford F 350 lariat, Is that chip fits my truck ? I searched to purchase, but they all says its for 7.3 L engines. can you hepl please ? thank you
Yeah i have a question when switching between modes from 40 75 100 140 do you have put the truck in park when switching the dial ? or can you just switch it while its still in drive or do you have to turn the truck off when switching it ? Would be much appreciated if you let me know
Why don't I buy/trusted this... these diesel all you really need is has it up and the black smoke will show. Plus this thing adding 140hp at the wheel... than how come non of the Drag cars, NASCAR, or F1 Formula not have it installed in their ride. I wonder why...? So adding 140hp on an stock engine will make your car super fast without any type of mods... with this being said your company should of put a lot of consumer out of business.
So I a "true 140" as opposed to untrue 140? So my one 140 hp could be 80 hp? The answer is yes! So changing the torque management, dumping fuel, and rompin on the gas pedal get you better fuel mileage? Go figure. You might be able to pull it off and drove like a granny. More power takes more fuel it's just physics. By your reasoning and 800 hp Viper would be getting s 50 to 100 miles a gallon. I guess you figure since there are so many fake chips out there that make that claim that it can't hurt for you guys use it to, right? When I built my LS one I was getting almost 32 miles a gallon on a 1700 mile trip stock is 350 hp at the flywheel. New engine that had to be kinda conservative on the cam with because I'm in California and makes 400 hp and torque at the rear wheels with a good tune. I lost 3 miles a gallon on the same trip. I don't like factory shift points on anything either but their reasoning is keep transmissions from blowing up. Black smoke is unburnt fuel. And no people don't like driving through your thick cloud of black smoke. So this isn't really a tune this is just turning shit up. You don't mention it your engine will not last as long your transmission will not last long, you kinda forgot to mention that. If you get a good tune on a diesel the way they're made now you should be able to get good power and not have all that smoke. How are we supposed to tell how much power it makes it is by watching you driving around? If you know how much it makes why don't you just show us demonstrating it on a Dyno, instead of just doing a sales pitch and telling us how wonderful it is making smoke, and doing a power brake burnout? Take a wild guess and say that results may vary widely. I gotta say you definitely sound like a snake oil salesman.
