Sadly, the 3-1-1 bag in that set is not 1L/1 quart by the dimensions. One good option that follows the dimensions correctly for TSA requirements is Tom Binh 3D Organizer. 7.1" x 4.3" x 2" (1L) instead of 8.5" x 6" x 3" (2.5L). I thought it looked pretty big which is the only reason I checked the dimensions. I'll keep it for domestic trips becaues I have TSA Pre-check but international security tends to be more strict so I'll likely switch over to the Tom Binh clear bag.
Yep, your other video showed a 3-1-1 container that was way out of bounds. I'm a packing princess and will take a look at the Tripped one you feature here. I like the way the clear pouch can be attached to the other part of the kit, and the hanger on that set.
I have contacts and take 2 kinds of contact solution which takes a lot of space. So I’ve been swapping as many liquids out for solids or wipes. Toothpaste = Bites toothpaste tabs, Shampoo = Lush bar shampoo, (I think they also have conditioner bars as well.) I saturate cotton circles with eye makeup remover and put in a ziplock. They then become wipes that don’t need to go into the liquids bag. Face cleaning microfiber cloths or wipes instead of facial cleanser. I also put as many liquids ie. base makeup, moisturizer, face sunscreen etc. into contact lense cases and label them. I even put my hair conditioner in a contact case and lasts me at least a week.
Great idea to pre-wet the cotton balls with eye makeup remover. I always carry a small bottle with my liquid eye makeup remover. This will eliminate one liquid and make my bag lighter! Thanks!
Ive been traveling for over 20 years consistently domestic and international. I always bring at least 2-3 bags of toiletry items with me on every flight, including my razor...never an issue and I dont ever check a bag. Agree with TSA precheck.
I’m probably in the minority here, I bought the Tripp Travel bag and returned it. I liked most everything about the bag except the mesh pockets were too small. If each set of pockets was just one big pocket instead of being sewn in the middle I would have kept the bag. The small pockets just didn’t fit a lot of my items 🙁
What I find frustrating with TSA is the inconsistencies. You can have stick deodorant but they toss your chapstick and lipstick, when they're all solid. Also, I have a "tsa approved" toiletry bag from Amazon but read that there is no official approving from tsa. It is a bit bigger than a quart because it gets wider and it worked fine for our trip to Italy and all my domestic trips but we're going to Ireland in a few weeks and I keep hearing how picky Dublin airport security is and people who have there stuff in quart size bags are asked to switch their stuff into their airport baggies. Seems so odd.
I just got that exact same bag in yesterday and same color. Debating whether to keep the detachable plastic bag attached or not. SO far I love the set though. Bot my daughter the same set in blue with the make up bag instead of the catch all thing.
The last couple of flights I've done, I haven't had to remove my liquids bag at all. Mileage my vary, but I think they are trying to do away with that for the regular TSA line
Thanks for the nice video. Is it possible to put ALL my toiletry items in a clear tsa approved bag including toothbrush, raisor and liquids, or am I only allowed to put liquids into that clear tsa approved bag without anything else?
OKI want to know somebody items. You said you had to declare. How do you do that before you arrive at the airport or at the airport? Can you please explain that you'll be very helpful? I really appreciate your video. Is very helpful. And thank you Take care god bless you always and I hope You keep upcoming with a few videos. Because it's very, very helpful. I'm very one hundred percent appreciated
Do medical-related liquids such as peroxide, Neosporin, liquid bandage, Anbesol, alcohol, witch hazel, hand sanitizers, nasal sprays, etc. have to go in the 3-1-1 bag?
Hello. Very helpful information. Can’t I put my razor in my checked luggage? I have the Mach 3 razor which has a blade. Can you please clarify? I can’t use disposable razors. And I also have non prescription nasal spray which I’ll keep in my liquids bag. Thank you!
Does anyone know if the containers need to be labelled with its volume? I bought containers that are smaller than 3.4oz but it’s not labeled on the containers
If it’s obviously smaller, you shouldn’t have an issue. However a bottle that is larger than 3.4 ounces, whether it’s labeled or not, will be an issue.
When using “Ask TSA” text, just send “Ask TSA” and you will get a series of prompts to help direct your question. The video did not address the permitted, separate TSA bag for personal medical requirements.
I've read many comments on TFG Facebook page that many International airports actually give you a qt bag of their own sizing & all liquids must fir in that. Allie, Have you experienced this in your travels?
Get solid PERFUME. Lush, Jo Malone, Estee Lauder, and many more all have solid perfumes. So many items come in solid versions - shampoo, conditioner, foundation, concealer, sunscreen, etc. Both CeraVe & Cetaphil have bar versions of their most popular cleansers. I have meds that need to be put into my liquids bag so I have swapped out as much as possible for the solid version.
Since your meds are medically necessary, you don't have to put them in your liquids bag. Per TSA, "You are not required to place your medically necessary liquid, gel, or aerosol in a plastic zip-top bag."
I read that 100 mL is the maximum amount of liquids that the TSA screening machine can scan at a time. I had never heard this before, but it makes sense.
OMG thank you! I have been knocking my head against the wall, I have those sample shampoo and conditioner in those packets and someone said that it had to be in a clear jar. Is that true? I already emptied them in the small jar but I do have face cream and eye cream in those sample packets do I need to transfer them in a small jar also? Thanks 😊
Each item in the liquids bag must be 3.4 ounces or smaller. Hair gel/spray and shaving cream are all considered liquids, so they're subject to the volume limit. You can buy travel-sized versions, or portion some out into travel-sized containers.
