TSA Pat-Down Demo with an Ostomy

After my many Airplane trips, every TSA Agent denied knowing what an ostomy was. I traveled mainly to Seattle or Portland. My worst experience was at the Walla Walla, Washington. There were four TSA Agents including one male and I basically had to be stripped searched and they had to see my pouch contained BM, then my hands were tested for explosives. At all the airports I was stripped search. The worst part is I also have pyoderma gangernoseum which is a five inch area around my stoma with ulcers and scars. The pat down was extremely painful. How could all those TSA Agents not know what an Ostomy is, if they are to be trained on how to handle it? My last trip was September 2019, and at every TSA scan I was taken into a room and was asked to remove my pants and reveal my pouch in full. I have never been so humiliated. Next time I fly I am going to register for Preflight, so I never have to endure such a humiliatingly experience again. I fly at least once a year and tragically I have to go through these horrible strip searches. I never experienced the ease shown in the video or any consideration for my feelings. It is very shocking to think that EVERY TSA AGENT CLAIMED NOT TO KNOW WHAT AN OSYOMY POUCH WAS. I was told in order to fly I had to endure these procedures because I lose all my rights when it comes to the TSA.

I traveled to Southeast Asia recently. I had mixed results. Some TSA people didn't know what an ostomy was. Some did the way it was shown on this video. On one, I had to lift my shirt and show them my ostomy. In all cases, I showed them my card that I printed from the site. Unfortunately, it didn't seem to help.

What do you do if the officer insists on seeing the ostomy bag? There are stories around from people having these.. one man stated that He was forced to travel without changing even tho the agent spilled the bag contents.

In spite of having purchased TSA PRECHECK, I am always "randomly" chosen for closer inspection by TSA. (Never in other countries.) I am so tired of this, now, I just yell and insult them. "You should determine whether I have more than 100 ml of poop in my bag..." I am no longer embarrassed, I am enraged. I might just go full frontal on them. Nobody knows what ostomy appliances are, nor what the UOAA card means. TSA is just security theater. These so-called agents are in costume, getting a paycheck for bossing innocent people. In the Air Force, people are checked 3 miles away at the guard gate, not next to the B52's!

I saw a vid where a tsa did a pat down when someone had a picc line. Why would a tsa agent tug on someone's picc line?

What if I don't want to take off my shoes? What options do I have?

TSA is horrible. every airport i’ve gone to they said ok and still continued to check me, the only place they checked was my inner thighs and they went up the way up to my vagina. multiple times. they didn’t even check around my waist where it would be. everyone was watching too i felt so violated

Travelled with an ostomy bag and TSA told me I had to drink the contents or I could not bring it on the plane. The doughnut I ate earlier tasted almost as good the 2nd time

Thats my favorite part of the flight! Just wish they'd give me a man to feel me up! its the only romance i ever get.

The people who fail high school work in the TSA. It's as simple as that. Everyone in our society needs a job, right?
