Beautiful landscapes are not always difficult to access 😉. I filmed a few complicated passages in others vidéos but that's not what I'm looking for (even if it's fun). The Forester is an all-terrain vehicle but not suitable for trials.
Are you using X-mode here? With X-Mode the car will automatically lock the free spinning wheels to push power into the wheels under load and get you over the bumpier terrain. It'll also automatically control the speed of your descent on a per-wheel basis instead of having to manually apply the brakes (which goes to all 4 wheels) for a way more controlled descent.
Hi. Of course I use it for the reasons you mention. What is less known is that this system is also very useful and effective for climbing difficult hills, especially rocky or snowy ones. I don't remember using it in this video. An example of use here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Cx1APosX3PE.html. (very steep descent of a rocky path)
2014 purchased in 2014. 117,000 kilometers. No CVT or other issues. Off-road it's fantastic comfort. The "maintenance-free" aspect is strange but for now everything is ok.
No fluid is lifetime fluid even when they say they are I have a 2019 same generation as your 2024 have the CVT fluid drained and refilled not a flush. Every 30k-40k miles have the differentials serviced at the same time and your Forester will take you well past 200k miles and be a rewarding experience while doing it
I'm getting back to you because I spoke to the person who maintains my 2l petrol Forester this morning. He is not a Subaru dealer, he is an engine tuner who only works on Imprezas. He receives engines from all over the world for a preparation for which he has world exclusivity. As he says, he does not prepare the engines, he "rebuilds" them. In short. He is ok with the CVT oil change but advises me against it. According to him, the oil used by Subaru is not commercially available. There are compatible oils but not the original oil which is of incomparable quality. He adds that the only time he had to do an oil change on a CVT, the oil was in perfect condition on a vehicle with 200,000 km. Last thing, he estimates the normal lifespan of the 2l Forester at around 300,000 kilometers.
