New subbie here and I love your videos......Am dating a Venda guy and been meaning to learn Tshivenda for months now....learned alot from your videos and I hope my bf will be impressed
Ndi masiari Tondani, ndo livhuwa for the lessons... I've just started watching these and still trying to get used to sounding out Venda words, but am super excited!
Lol I chose to learn Tshivenda cause I heard there are those words that are similar to setswana e.g Vhurotho is borotho, nwala is ngwala, Tshikoloni is Sekolong. I mean! I can ace this😭💯 Then I heard the name Rhofiwa/Rhofwiwa, it sounds more like Refilwe 😭
So many similarities actually! 😅 I had never thought about it. Its easy for me to hear sestwana as well although I can't really respond. We have lots in common!
Thank you so much, wow I am loving this, I love Venda, because I have tried learning Tshivenda on my own but I got stuck so i really need your email address so I can ask please, be my teacher(falling like Chinese).
I love how Shona is very similar to Tshivenda. I can pick up a few words here and there when i hear people speaking it. I still want to invest my time into learning it fully though :)
Venda is closely related to Kalanga which was the thought to be language of Mpangubweans believed to be the builders of Great Zimbabwe. We are all related in shape or form.
It has a lot of similarities with Tsonga (Shangaan - as you say in Mzansi). The way the words are prounonced is quite similar with tsonga. If a tsonga guy hears Tshivenda from a certain distance he may think most definely that it is tsonga.
Alot of people say this. Funny enough, I use to hear tsonga as a kid and I would know what the conversation was about. These days I'm terrible. My brain gets confused 😂
