TSM_Player (Zeus) vs Arf_Adhafang (Kronos) on Oasis - Age of Mythology: The Titans 

Add a new race? Do you realise what kind of work that would be? They need to take another mythology, problem is there's none available. If anything they must then take an asian or arabic mythology. Then units, gods, godpowers and the most important and insane task, they must rebalance everything. I cannot see how they can manage that. The addition of the Atlanteans already made it somewhat troublesome in ways of balance, many still belive its not done right and prefer AoM or simply AoT but no atty players. The task would be very time and money consuming. Not to mention that there would be few studio's that could pull it off. Plus i would personally not like to see a change in gameplay at all, in fact i'd probably would not play it and play this version instead. I still like this game so much after all these years because its the same, change it and ruin it, that goes for me anyways. Besides AoM allows for hd settings already, so i've heard anyways.

Wimpiethe3 I don't really disagree. I think the game is good enough with the races it has to be worth an update just with graphics and maybe a bit of AI. But it's not really *that* hard to add new races. Look at all the races in AoE. I don't know why they wouldn't be able to use Asian or Arabic. There's not *none available*. OK, so there wasn't really a huge ocean-faring influence from Asia at the time frames loosely suggested by the game (say active civilizations from 1000-2000 yrs ago), but you could do: Chinese Hun, Chinese Man (not human, Man tribe), Polynesian, Arabic, Indian... you could even try and tackle the awkward naming of the First Nations Americans. Balancing the god powers might be a tad tricky. I'm actually in the camp of people who aren't impressed with the Atty's, but they went such a dramatically different direction with the god powers, it was really inevitable that they would run into balance problems.

Wimpiethe3 Isn't Egypt mythology more or less Arabic? Other mythologies would be great! Imagine Indian mythos or eastern Asian myths making it to the game! That would be awesome! Maybe even some Persian mythology. Zoroastrianism has a few deities that could be used.

If you have two good players I'd take being Zeus in late-game over Atlantean. Atlantean's whole advantage comes from their ability to rush and put more pressure on early, and possibly get a titan faster to win the game. Fanatics are better but not cost effectively and they aren't good against buildings/arrow units as much as Myrmidons. Plus Zeus has the Belle (hero) and Colossus (myth unit) and probably the armory upgrades for little to no cost compared to what you payed (600,600) becomes like (200, 200) (special tech in mythic). Not to mention a better Greek player will have better counter units than Atlanteans do all game, so they will simply overpower them unless pressured too much early.
