@@michaelshields7777 I think it's only 30 actually..but I'm assuming the reason it's not free is to cover the technical costs of whatever multimedia they use and also help supportnthe 20 or 30 plus musicians who im assuming are not super rich and have been out of work for a while? Given that, unless I'm wrong, 30 bucks seems reasonable...Unkuje galaxy con actors charing literally 200 dollars or almost 300..yes 200 or 300..fpr a TWO MINUTE CONVERSATION..that's a rip off..unless it's for charity..

While my dad and I have seen them for the last 15 years, it was only in the last 7 or so that we started a tradition of one of us buys the tickets, the other buys dinner at the place of the ticket buyer's choice (then the next year, we switch) Dad got lucky this year with how cheap the ticket is! Can't wait for this.

I was so upset when they cancelled TSO 2020, as it has been a christmas tradition every year since I was 5. This is my 9th year seeing TSO and I'm incredibly excited to see what they put together!

Rush turned people on to Mannheim Steamroller, not TSO. I have never heard Rush play or ever talk about TSO in my 30+ years of listening to him.

This was the year we were finally going to see a TSO concert live ... and then everything shut down. but then the live stream was announced! We watched and LOVED IT ... I should say we watched, danced, and cheered! Hoping for a DVD so that the magic can happen again and again as a holiday tradition! And when the live tour opens again we are so there!

Watched the livestream back when y’all had it. Absolutely loved it. I listen to your music practically year around, not just at Christmas. Be awesome if y’all could put the 2020 livestream on DVD and sell it. It’d definitely become part of my annual Christmas watchlist.

This concert was amazing and just what I and my family needed. I was able to share the wonder of TSO with my mom for her 70th birthday and with my 6 year old daughter. They both loved it and so did I. Thank you! Please tell me this will be available on DVD! I really want to see it again!

I watched the livestream earlier this evening, and I gotta say, I loved it! I have been to at least three live shows here in San Antonio, and as a devoted “repeat offender”, there is nothing like seeing TSO live and in person. I was sad to hear that the annual live concert was canceled due to the ongoing pandemic, but this livestream was more than just the next best thing. This was a gift that a lot of us really needed. I was able to share this with my mom, who is 71 years old, had never seen a TSO performance until now, and doesn’t like live concerts with lots of people. She loved this performance as much as I did! I don’t know if I’ll be able to bring her to a live concert, but I was at least able to share this with her and I’ll be getting her more TSO albums for her to enjoy. Thank you, TSO, for this wonderful Christmas miracle you have given us. I hope that you will consider doing more livestream events in the future, and I look forward to seeing you guys here in San Antonio next year. Thank you again, and Merry Christmas!

The livestream is tonight, and I am a huge fan of TSO, (I've seen them on 16 different tours) but I will not be watching it tonight, as I have seen this performance numerous times already over the years, and watching it online, just won't be the same as seeing them live, in person, and so I'd rather spend my money on something else, something more worthwhile.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra~ I watched your Livestream Event last night... and it was freakin' fantastic! Thank you so much for doing this! I've never been able to get to one of your live concerts. Hopefully you might consider not only putting this out as a video for purchase but also, and more importantly, doing a Livestream Event every year for those of us who can't make it to one of your in-person concerts. I know it would be a massive amount of logistics and work, but it's just a thought from one who thinks the world of you all and your artistry.... Thank you again! Friendly reminder to all who purchased the ticket - you can rewatch the livestream as many times as you want between now and sometime Sunday night. So of you had buffering/loading issues - you can try again [and it should be less issues as it will then be a pre-recorded video]

Hopefully they will use this to make a new movie you can buy. We love watching the existing every year but would love to have a higher quality version. Seems like this should be really easy to produce since most of the work is already done.

I'd rather watch one of the full length videos that you can find on RU-vid, than pay for a live stream. I imagine they are going to be charging a nice amount to watch the livestream too. Ugh. I have seen TSO on 16 different tours, but to see a livestream won't be the same.

So I take my entire family to see this show EVERY year, and this year paid for the livestream and watched what looked like a 240p video stream most of the time. To say there were buffering issues would be an understatement. The performance was marvelous as usual. The video was terrible. And yes I know I can watch it later and not be competing with every other livestream purchaser for bandwidth. But then is is not a livestream. It is just a recording. And yes, there is a difference. So next time do the math - you know how many tickets you have sold, you should be able to calculate exactly how much horsepower you need to deliver a HD video stream, and tell your livestream vendor not to cheap out on the servers.

Idk. I probably will pass on this only because I know it wont be the same as in person. Ive gone twice and both times I was the complete opposite of disappointed. One the best times of my life. I just think sitting at home, the performance will lose a bit of luster. But ill save the 30 and go next year for sure

Sadly not this year. With new SarsCov2 spikes every few weeks, almost no city will allow the size gathering that is needed for the tour to even make expenses, much less any profit. A couple of years ago, I saw a post somewhere that said they were spending $20K a week just on the Pyro. Add to that 2 rented generators(backup in case building power fails - they come prepared these days), the orchestra and other incidentals and the expenses add up fairly quickly for each city.

IF health matters clear up, I would definitely expect them to be touring again next year. I've gone to Council Bluffs, Iowa where the West group starts and have seen the army of folks that it takes to put this show on. Down right impressive. It's not just the money...these folks really enjoy putting on the shows.

You can use the function from Google that allows you to cast your screen. Simply play the concert from your phone. Then use Google casting to cast it to your tv

Consider 90 shows last year..57 Million gross. One show this year and they could easily do half that much...with almost zero expenses!

I think it was a mix. I live on the east coast. I seen some from last year and some I did not know. So that may explain why I did not know who some were.

@@keithlisk2339 to be honest I was a bit disappointed also. I felt like I was watching there rehearsal. I understand it was hard with it being there first time doing it this way. I feel they ended it really fast. The live show encore goes on for a little bit and it is awesome!

Charging $30 for a recording of last years show and calling it a live event is a bit of a scam don't ya think. Don't get me wrong I love TSO I take my family every year to see them. But, from everything I have seen from these so called "livestream" events they are nothing more than recordings of shows past, and you don't even get to keep the video. Hardly worth the $30.

Exactly, and I totally agree with you. I have better things to spend my money on, and to think they are going to charge $30 for a ticket to see a rerun of last years tour, is bogus! The part that really disgusts me however, is that you can buy the premium package, which includes a ticket, Christmas ornament, "backstage laminate," etc. for only $100!! Also, I have seen these guys on 16 different tours over the years, both the east and west coast tours, and have seen this production about a dozen times or more already. I'd rather buy a ticket and see them live, in person, than watching online. Ugh.

As someone that went last year, I can tell you this wasn't last year's show. Not even close. First, set decoration was different. Maybe not as sharp as usual, but it was only $30. Second, this show had a mix of both East and West performers. As best I know, that has happened three or four times before. Brandenberd Gate, New Year's eve a few years ago, the Beethoven's Last Night tour and Wacken open air festval in Europe summer 2015. Lastly, audio wasn't as sharp as a real concert. Don't know if that was my poor set up or if that was one of the places that pinched pennies. I was very glad to see that Paul's wife is still involved.

How is the TV connected to the Internet? Mine was doing that the other night and two songs before the end, I realized there was wired connection a short distsnce away. Friends show that did not buffer as much were hard wired.

Arts and culture have been hit so hard with financial cuts and losses due to lockdowns and limitations. I'll gladly pay for something so dear to my heart to support my favourite artists.

@@scaramazz $30 is a bit much, IMO. Especially when you can get nosebleed seats at a concert for $40-$50. Granted, we don’t have that opportunity this year. $15 max is what I would be willing to pay. But, if people want to pay $30, more power to them!

I doubt the main show will end up here. I'm hoping they were smart enough to record it and put out a DVD. It would be an instant #1 on the charts.
