I'm with Surf. When I get to where I wanna be financially, I don't mind paying all or the bulk of the rent/mortgage. In return all I want is her to cook & do the bulk of the cleaning. I wouldn't date a woman long-term if she doesn't want to cook or clean. That's just my preference. Also I have African parents who have been married over 20 years. From what I've observed, gender roles make things simple & easy.

And she has been raised by her mama and she told her to be independent have your own things and recently she has let her guard down and now she cooks cleans etc washes clothes and I will do my part for her. @@dclarke2179 I have too much love and understanding for my black women that’s why. I was raised by a single parent so I get the mentality. But it’s something that is taught to a lot of young black women to don’t trust no man or let no man take you for a fool. So I get it. Deep rooted problem, because the women will struggle to let that guard down even with a good man.

Pops stayed with a clean house fresh towels fresh everything stayed having women and kept a burner and a grenade from the surplus in his house. The one guy made a great point. Some women have been submissive multiple times and have been used and abused multiple times so it's not easy to do it again. My daughters are HIGHLY independent and they're HIGHLY Cleanly. So if you deal with either of them you have to bring both to the table. If you treat them with gifts then so be it but they can buy those same gifts themselves. We didn't raise them to depend on any man or woman unless it's a two way street.
Question out of curiosity: would you tell your daughters to a leave a relationship if she dealing with a highly paid man who said he wants to go 50/50 in living expenses if your daughter is a making bank aswell?

Sure, there are one off situations where man and women play opposite roles and it works, but I’m not talking about anomalies. I’m talking about the majority. All situations I know where the women was the breadwinner, the leader, the one “who wore the pants in the family”, did not work. The man felt emasculated and the women didn’t respect the man.

I think you should do what you comfortable with. If I make more than my woman, I'm providing whether she doing housework or not. If she making more than me, I expect us to make similar financial contributions to the household until she has my child, then I'll take more of the financial load. If she can't cook, I'm cooking. I hate washing dishes so she can do that. Point is, either work together off your strengths or find someone who meets your standards.
