FREESTYLE VS. WRITTEN. Originally, when rap started... freestyle meant off the top of the head, NOT WRITTEN. Anything written was NOT a freestyle. Im 45 years old, still in the BX. I was in the parks at when rap crews were just starting, BEFORE rap was on records or radio.
Fam you got it backwards. Freestyle meant PRE-WRITTEN in the "late" 80's & 90's... which is why I was confused for a few years because we always knew freestyle to mean OFF THE TOP. Fam me and my niggas spoke about this and they all from the Bronx and OVER 40 years old. We were here BEFORE rap started my nigga. This aint some shit we read about WE EXPERIENCED THIS SHIT.
