Instead of buying one expensive lens, I prefer buying several manual budget lens to play with, and i always check your review first, thanks for making these videos 😌
It’s a fun little lens. I Use it frequently as a street/walk around lens on my M50. No complaints here. The price is right and I like it’s character. Sharpness isn’t everything. Nice review, thanks
I follow you for a very long time, and i love the videos, photos, and all effort you put into videos! Gonna leave a small positive critique, when testing new lenses, try to not overexpose, it will washout colors a lot, its always better to shoot half a stop underexposed, and recover a bit of shadows in lightroom, rather then overexpose and have it all white (sky / water / puddles/ backrounds(even skin looks faint)). Really would like to see that lens performing a bit in Underexposed setting (.5 to 2stops). Keep the good reviews!
have been watching your videos from over the past few years. your wonderful son has really grown a lot. 😍. i still remember your video reviews ( i think it was for a6400) where your wife was still carrying him around in her arms 🤗nice review btw and keep more videos coming. a special request for your next video: any new gimbal, preferable the size of zhiyun m2 but stronger for vlogging available? thanks.
My camera is a Sony a7rii but still enjoy watching your videos even if they are for APSC. I was watching you when I first got the Sony a6500 before I went into full-frame, and never broke the habit. Been having fun with my new travel lens, the Tamron 28-200mm. Keep up the great videos and God bless!
@@m4rcin847 plenty of pros use APSC. It has many advantages over FF in many situations. The only advantage of ff is that the photos are fractionally cleaner and usually have better iso performance.
@@m4rcin847 the advantages of FF aren't relevant unless you are shooting in very low light. However, the disadvantage of FF are clearly visible 24 hours a day. Furthermore, Fujifilm doesn't even make a ff camera. What next, only pros use medium format?
I have been using the TT 35 1.4 and 50 1.2 and really enjoying them paired with my X-Pro3 the images are great... I have been thinking about picking this one up also...
I bought this lens (awaiting delivery) for one reason.... I want one non-focus by wire lens with a comprehensive set of DOF marks for zone focusing to use for street photography. I shoot Fujifilm and have the outstanding XF 16MM f/1.4 as well as the more petite f/2.8, but those lenses will "drift" off of the distance that I set for zone focused grab shots while walking around, and you won't see that since they have no external distance info. I'll be using the 17mm at at least f/8 and i already bought a wide-angle hood for it to cut down some flare, so this should fill the square that I bought it for.
@@GamachePhoto unfortunately to lens hood that I pre-bought from Amazon based on it being the correct 40.5mm thread and labeled as a wide angle hood did not work out. It was from FOTASY but the hood being a screw in type was just an angled cone, rather than the usual petaled hood for wide angles. It cut off the corners with severe vignetting. Had to remove it.
Thanks for the reviews. They are always appreciated. If you you find value in it, a review of a Pentax 135mm f/2.8 on your crop sensor would be very nice. Have a good weekend!
First I was skeptical but I decided to order one myself. 0-regrets! The image quality is stunning and for me its all about the usability of the camera setup. The Sigma is better in every aspect besides the form factor which is crucial for travel photography. I can take this lens everywhere on my A6000. I took it to Nashville, Lake Superior and Chicago. Thats what makes this lens so good. One of the best everyday lenses for ASPC.
What about video quality? I'm willing to buy it as a replacement of my Sony zve10 for video. Please tell about videos made by this 17mm LENS of TTARTISAN.
I did not find a decent review on the internet and bought this lens anyway. I'm very happy with that. The lens is similar in many ways to 28 f/1.4 but wider. Worth every penny.
There is a good lens but wouldn't it be better to buy some vintage lens ??? There is really a lot to choose from. I'm just testing the helios 44-2 m42 mount 58 mm f2 but then I think there will be some carl zeis :)
actually not really, because every vintage fast wide angle is very expensive. (I'm a huge vintage lens fan btw.:), but I also love these ultra cheap chinese lenses)
Nope. These Chinese lenses have more vibrant colors and usually Superior coatings. Vintage lens make sense only if it has a unique rendering, such as Petzval curvature. They are not good as direct replacements.
Thanks for the review. How about using it for milky way? I am thinking about the nikon z version although I will prefer black while only silver is currently available.

Hi, I currently have a Pen-F and Sigma 30mm 1,4 and am very happy but unfortunately too big. I am interested in a bright compact lens mainly for street photography and I am undecided between the two TTartisan lenses 23mm 1,4 (plus compactness) and the 17mm (plus focal but less compact) what do you recommend? I would have doubts about their sharpness, to be picky, the potential that the two lenses have in post-production both with open and closed aperture.
This lens damaged my a6000 and I don't know what to do . Any recommendations ? whenever I take a picture the camera tells me " Camera error.Turn power off then on"
@@opperbouwmeester resetting the camera by taking out the battery and putting it back in? yea, I tried that and still nothing. Is there another way of resetting the camera ?
Thank you for the review! I use a Samyang 18mm 2.8 on a a5100 + camlink as my daily-basis streaming cam. This sounds like a nice replacement that would let me save the Samyang for better uses.
how does one say something is cheap? It is what it is because of lots of factors. We need to stop this thing called cheap, unless we have apples to apples comparison guys.... it is budget sensitive, not cheap!
Not an American, but I can't get my head around what it would be like to live in Florida. I mean, I'm still subscribed, but it must be nightmare fuel, right?
If u need real wide = Samyang 14 mm f/ 2.8 + speedbooster or Samyang 14 mm f/ 2.8 + simple adapter => 2 in 1. Samyang 14 mm f/ 2.8 price only 200$ like new
@@ArthurR hi can you share information or possibly video about how this lens perform for landscape? video & photo? in very small aperture is it good and sharp?
