Good work done so far, it's not overdone. That is the coolest part. I like your taste ❤

Thanks Sandeep 😄 What if anything would you do additionally? I sometimes contemplate other details, but like you also appreciate avoiding overdone... as does my wallet. 🤪

Thank you. 😊 It’s a good idea for a first bike… nice lightweight not too powerful inexpensive Japanese reliability …with some style as a bonus. It also turns out a good choice as a 12th bike. 😄🙋🏻

Some nice mods to your TU250, I love mine, and I added a Cycle Racks rear rack, a metal front fender, and mirror extensions. So, like you, a few personal touches but not any major modification. The Cycle Racks rack is great, they are going for about $200 now. They are made by a small company in Idaho, and are designed to be an exact fit for the bike. They are guaranteed for life, and the people at the company will talk to you on the phone or email if you have any questions about the rack. You can use many different top bags, boxes, and panniers with the rack, as well as the classic milk crate. And still ride two up with the rack on. The only thing I don't like about the rack is that I am not 100% into the aesthetics of it, it doesn't look bad and fits with the vintage look of the bike, but not completely attractive. The fender makes mine look even more classic. I've thought about the Brogue exhaust and plug combo, maybe when I adjust the valves (you have to take off the saddle to reach the intake). But the exhaust and plug combo costs about $500!

Oooo… that’s a muscular rack… it would definitely be needed for any major trips. I just strap a backpack to the back of the seat… works well enough for 1-3 days and no camping. What kind of undertakings is your rack employed for?
@daphnedevi
@daphnedevi Год назад
I think the exhaust and plug were very worth it. A way nicer sound and response. Despite a few light pops periodically on decels the power delivery feels way better… smoother, and a bit richer so it doesn’t feel like it’s gonna stall in and out of idle.

@@daphnedevi I haven't done any major trips. I use the rack for commuting to work, shopping trips around town, but it could work for some touring. The thing is that the TU has a lot of vibration at 50 MPH and up, so not necessarily that comfortable for long rides. But you can use that rack with a bag or box on top, plus panniers on the sides, and add a bag that straps onto the rear seat as well, and get a bit of cargo on the bike, but you also have to be careful, as the handling is a little different with weight on the back.

Those are great bikes! I really like the look that you achieved with it, very cool! And like you said, the nice thing about a 250 is that you can actually maintain a decent speed on the road with it.
@daphnedevi
@daphnedevi 9 месяцев назад
Almost decent speed 😝 …I’ve determined that my xt250 is way more stable on the highway, and thus capable of going significantly faster (both have stock gearing, and with dual sport tires). But for backroads both are swell, though the xt remains still better… I think maybe due to superior rear suspension, perhaps? The tu sure gets some style points though. 🤠

Wow. Well done. Love it. If you could lift the front mudguard that would finish it for me. Love the new sound and the bars. Really cool
@daphnedevi

That’s definitely worth considering. Not sure yet if I would have to fabricate something or if someone makes it… I know webike has some shorty fenders, but I haven’t seen risers. Let me know if you have seen any leads. Maybe I’ll have to make a not-so-basic mod video. 😜

Nice little ride you got there. A set of pro taper cr bend bars might be the solution to your handlebar situation. They are lower then the ones you got..
@daphnedevi

I do love some Protaper bars!… (I have used the Contour Windham rm mid on 4 bikes). It’s worth reconsidering… what took me away from it was wanting for this bike an integrated cross bar and no branding stamps.

🤪 After riding them a while, I am not in love with these tires. I haven’t yet taken them on any dirt/gravel trails where they may be fine. I just don’t love them on pavement, and I’ve ridden something like a dozen different dual sport tires on various bikes without prior complaint re road manners. I really hate them on grooved pavement or grated bridges… again, no other dual sport tire bugged me in these areas. Although, in some cases I think my impression of poor grip in hard riding in the twisties may actually be more related to the antiquated suspension. ☹️

Nice. But why knobbys on a street bike?
@daphnedevi
@daphnedevi 5 месяцев назад
For well maintained forest roads / farm roads (the suspension won’t tolerate more bumpy than that)… Road tires in these conditions are adequate, but knobbies look swell. 😄 These knobbies though… I don’t think I love them too much.

I just picked up my 2nd TU yesterday, 2013! I want to put the same tires on that you put on yours. What size are they? Did you have to adjust the fenders at all to accommodate for the size? Thanks!
@daphnedevi

I think larger than I went would require a front fender adjustment due to knobs. (As you noted, sizes in video. 😄)

У меня такой же мотоцикл. 2012 года. Как шины ведут на дороге?
@daphnedevi
@daphnedevi Год назад
The tires are okay, but have not yet seen rain. They are terrible over grates (such as on a bridge). As the bike is new to me, I'm learning that some lack of grip which I was blaming on the tires has more to do with suspension limitations.

Hi where’s the part list for the chain, sprocket sets? Can you please help me?
@daphnedevi
@daphnedevi Месяц назад
I believe it's a 520 chain, 108 links, with front 15 and rear 43 sprocket. Your local shop could help you probably... otherwise, here is a good site for tu250x resources out of Japan... you can order from them or at least use them to help determine parts compatibility and then search the same products from sellers more local to you. japan.webike.net/SUZUKI/TU250X+ST250/598/m-spec/

@@RyGuyTheAVGuy The price was gack!… And I’m not sure I found much value by way of improved comfort, more by way of improved looks. I’d been warned the gel seat was quite hard by way of an internet comment, so I didn’t have high hopes… let’s say the comfort value is a toss up. But I have a bunch of bikes I tend to ride more, so it could be the seat breaks in a bit over more use time.
