One national champ every year and every program should strive to be the best they can. Finishing up a season builds toward the next season. If a kid is NFL material every play matters. It doesn't matter what the score is. Pro scouts look at individual effort that is team building. They see a kid doing real well on a #5 team and they notice. Good play enhances the players value, no matter what the score is.

FSU fans can't expect people to give their team a chance even though they play a soft schedule, and at the same time not give Liberty a chance. Undefeated UCF got left out of a playoff some years back and it's because of their schedule. Now they are a big 12 team with a harder schedule. It's not about FSU vs bama because even if bama lost I'm sure Texas takes the spot with UGA still at #1. FSU had a chance to prove themselves against an awful Florida team and an overrated Louisville team and they struggled offensively. If they can beat UGA with all of the starters in the game, then maybe we were wrong. This is all the fault of the flawed 4 team system. Not bamas fault. Next year we will not have this problem

You act as if there hasn't been blowouts in title games before. Plus, TCU won a playoff game. In all honesty, Michigan was going to get spanked in the title game as well. At the end of the day, it's not who the best 4 teams are in the nation. If it were, I could argue Oregon should be in over Alabama since their only two losses are against Washington in 1 score games (I think Washington is better than Oregon and Alabama, but Oregon is better than Alabama). It's about who earned the right to play in the CFP over the course of a season. There's a high correlation between the best 4 and the 4 that earned the right to play in the CFP, but it is not supposed to be 100% the same every season. FSU earned the right to be in the CFP. Anytime you're an undefeated P5 team, you should automatically make it to the CFP. Idc if every single win was by a field goal. If you find a way to win all your games, no matter how ugly they are, in a P5 conference, you deserve to be in the playoffs. Otherwise, why even play the games unless you're in the SEC? If Bama went undefeated and won every game ugly by a field goal, no one is keeping them out. I don't think FSU was going to beat Michigan, but they earned the right to try. They earned the right to get the brakes beaten off them, just like TCU did last season.
