I’ve had multiple head injuries and I have now three lesions on my brain. I’m 34 years old and I have some troubles with reading and comprehension and some times thinking. I try to live an easier life now for myself and my daughter. Tua really needs to consider it the importance of longevity of his heath and his life. 🙏 for Tua

Tua has made enough money to survive you only get 1 life. I’ve seen ppl in the army and navy vets with these type of injuries pay for them later in life let alone football players

Another point to bring up.... Should the NFL step in and just bar a player from playing for their own health? The NFL could have a panel of players and/or former players that makes this decision. But sometimes you have to stop someone from endangering themselves. And then, I hate to bring this up, but on the business side of things, the NFL needs to stop players from hurting themselves to cover themselves from future lawsuits because they didn't step in.

I feel Tua should consider retirement, for the sake of his family and himself. Obviously its not the easiest decision, but he has a family to consider. This is a conversation that goes beyond him playing on the field.

I used to have resentment that I didn't continue playing football after high school. I chose to run track but I always had the strong "what if" throughout my 20s. Now at 37 I am so glad that I didn't pursue football after high school, even though I had the opportunity. People have to realize football is a temporary part of a football players life.

When you pay attention to the kind of hits that hurt Tua. Tua needs to call it a career. It's like a professional boxer that gets knocked out with jabs.

I played ball from the age of 10-22 yrs of age. At a young age i remember making a big hit and blacking out. At the time i didnt even know i was having concussions i figured i was just knocked out from a big hit get back up keep playing. Also during that time in the early 90s CTE wasnt that heavenly discussed. I continued to have concussion in high school and in college. I remember my senior year of college. Some teamates were discussing going pro and they were amazed when i said Im done. The concussions were too often and i when i did have them sometimes i would be out for at least a minute. I never played professionally but I do understand Shadys point. You been working and playing your whole life it’s tough to just leave.

People saying it's all up to him are incorrect. Authorities in sports have the power to stop a participant, when there is clear medical evidence to support it. For example, you can be banned from boxing for medical reasons. If the NFL does not utilize that authority in a responsible manner, than I can promise you, they will find themselves being regulated more strictly. There is already plenty of eyes on the NFL for medical conditions. Why make it worse? Let's be real. The NFL is a business and its focus is money. They would be insane to risk their business for one player. Sometimes, you must force a person to do the right thing. It happens every day in life outside of sports. The NFL has the real choice. Self-regulate or be externally regulated.

Tua has seen 50 million at 26 years old. Families don’t see 50 million in 10 generations 500 years. Come on people seriously. He can Invest the money see 100 million and go live and be fruitful, go coach be around the game and become NFL coach some how. This is nuts the debate when this man is done. That man come back and something else happens and he can’t walk off the field it’s going to be real bad look.

His helmet bounced off the ground after he ran into Hamlin. That probably had an impact on the concussion.

It shouldn’t be a hard decision at all. The damage from concussions and CTE risk are STILL being minimized, even now with all the extra attention. It’s STILL not treated as serious as it really is. It’s deadly serious, and any honest conversation will end with him absolutely having to retire. Thanks for being honest guys. Wish this was the standard, it should be.

As sad of a realization as this is to face, in my humble opinion I truly believe this keeps happening to Tua because it is possible that he was never meant to or called to play football. I watched his documentary awhile back and saw, as a young boy how much importance was on the family name, his family legacy and family members who-mainly his father-pushed him to play football. Beginning as a small kid, Tua was bred, trained and steered to perfect the game of football. It was a seed that was planted from the beginning, and Tua only lived to make his family proud and live up to their athletic expectations and aspirations for him. As a believer, I understand the tragedy in living your life for others instead of seeking GOD to reveal what HE has proposed for you and your life and from what we know to have unfortunately happened to Tua over recent years concerning his health, it does not seem like this was the path he was meant to walk down. God will allow these types of things to happen as a wake up call to get us to focus on what HE truly has intended for us to do in this world. I believe this is what is happening with Tua

Remember that scene from Rocky 5 at the start "Adrienne...I can't stop my hands from shaking". The behind the scenes suffering these dudes go through we don't see but it goes on. This dude needs to retire. Even if he comes back every time he takes a hit we're going to all be worried he's going to get his 4th concussion.

“Should Tua retire” is a different convo. There’s no debate bc we all know he should, but the competitiveness in us say he shouldn’t. This is the biggest take in professional sports if you think about it.

of all the people that should be wearing a guardian helmet it should be him. its ego over safety. Jonathan Taylor wore a guadian cap cuz he knows he goes through the trenches. Tua should be doing the same cuz hes got a history of concussion already. Not guaranteed it would prevent it 100% but if it does reduce it by 50% then thats good enough

We will see what happens but we always over react to things that happen right away and i dont think tua will walk away. Lets re-watch the segments of tua retiring from 2 years ago. I think Tua will miss longer then normal people and try again and give it 1 more try at it.

If Tua is allowed to continue, the team better have him in a guardian cap EVERY GAME and make him do mandatory slide drills at the beginning and end of each practice and Siri game warmups. He has to build that option in his mind. No player wants to be the player to take Tua out of the NFL with a hit he can’t come back from.

Best football show ever. I work in an ER and see athletes day in and day out suffer multiple concussion and some have permanent brain injuries. Once you have a concussion it becomes easier for you to suffer another. He should walk away. He doesn't need to have cognitive delays. You guys are awesome.

Former ice hockey goalie here - took a knee to the head in a tournament and two more concussions after that on increasingly “softer” plays. Hung up the skates after that. I still miss the game very much but it is scary when things that didn’t both you before start to concuss you.

Thank god Acho didn’t include himself with “extensive experience” in the NFL lol
