The ultimate line up. I hope I'm right in thinking these are all dear friends; so are able to create such music. Each one is a master of their instrument -including the voice of course. How they produce this beauty time after time is hard to believe.
EN ARGENTINA TENEMOS EL ORGULLO DE TENER EXCELENTES BANDAS TRADICIONALES.- PERO TAMBIÉN SE VAN DE GIRA CELESTIAL MUCHOS GRANDES MUSICOS.- ÉSO ES LO QUE MÁS LAMENTO.-FUERZA TODA TUBA SKINNY''.-
When I wake up each morning depressed at how things turned out and then I discovered TubaSkinny and I begin to feel happy. I’ve asked other guys my age (82) to listen and try to not tap your toes.
QUE EXTRAORDINARIOS MÚSICOS.-CREO QUE LOS GRANDES MAESTROS COMO''OLIVER,ARMSTRONG,MORTON,HENDERSON,WILLIAMS,JOHNNY DODDS,ELLINGTHON,BESSIE SMITH''LOS DEBEN ESTAR APLAUDIENDO DESDE EL MÁS ALLÁ Y GOZANDO DE SUS HERMOSAS INTERPRETACIONES.-MUCHAS GRACIAS ''DIGITALALEXA'' POR SUBIR A ÉSTA GRAN ''TUBA SKINNY''.-SALUDOS.-
There is something very special about Tuba skinny. I think it is their rhythm, I don't know, but by God I really love it. It goes without saying that the soloists are masters of their craft. Love from the UK.
I've been a traditional jazz fan for over 60 years. My first recordings were of Armstrong's Hot Five and the Firehouse Five. I'm truly impressed by Tuba Skinny. Their musicianship is very high at each instrument. Their play list is remarkable - I applaud the resurrection of some very obscure jazz and blues. I rank this band as equal to Turk Murphy's early Good Time Jazz recordings. It's really good to see young people obviously devoted to the music I love.
Brilliant mix of talented musicians, and a good singer.I wish I could have there in person.Love that jazz, nothing lives like it..I wish them every success.Big Dave Peterborough,Cambs.
This group is great!the best cornet player anywhere.im 75 and sing with a local blues band and I think Erica has a fantastic! voice they sound like they were just teleported from the 1920s to now.Amazing hope to see them in person sometime.
I have been listening to Trad Jazz since I was 16. I am now 77 but still visit my local jazz club three times per month. Many of the musicians and most of the audience are are in my age group. So I am delighted to hear these young musicians play so well in the home of Trad Jazz.I hope they come to the UK while I am still able to go to some of their gigs.
come on you wonderfull musicians, it's only 7000 km to my hometown Amsterdam and all your Dutch fans love to see and hear you play your fantastic music
Just 'melting' here in rainy cold UK for these fabulous stomping, syncopated beats and your gorgeous simple melodic swings....can't stop the need to dance!
Que du bonheur d'écouter Tuba Skinny !! Magnifique formation qui fait revivre réellement le son de New-Orleans sans artifice et dans l'esprit originel. Merci beaucoup pour le partage, on en redemande
This is my first time to hear this group. I'm another one who landed on them by accident. Now they have their own playlist that I will go to whenever I'm in the NOLA mood, which is quite often. I so want to go there again before I croak. The best feel-good city in the nation. The first I heard was the 9-song set on Royal Street. Wow! I love you guys! Thank you, digitalalexa for posting this great music!
I was just about to turn my computer off and go to bed when I spotted this,So I am now watching it all the way through and will do the the same tomorrow! Thanks for posting this!!Greetings from the UK.
same as Peter Gill, surfing around and came across this superb music (trad) is what I call it. Mesmorised thanks so much for posting, now a follower of Tuba Skinny.
Just found this music a while ago, and can't stay away from it. Thanks for posting. I'll look forward to buying their CDs or DVDs soon. Thanks for posting.
I SO appreciate this set and all if your fine recordings ! I use an HDMI cable and watch it on my TV - it's not quite like being there, but damn good. Need I say that of the several bands reviving this traditional jazz .. all quite accomplished .. Tuba Skinny rises to a crest of brilliance. Hope to see this rack up another 100,000 views. Thank you .. kudos .. carry on !!!
I particularly like "Memphis Shake". And who is the idiot who gave a do not like to this. Get a life man. Either you don't like traditional jazz or you don't recognize real talent when you hear it.
What a terrific band! I took my trumpet out and playing along, learning these wonderful tunes and copping licks from Shayne Cohn, but of course I don't have the same feeling she does. I've been listening to jazz all my life, started with trad and now into bebop - but this is making me want to go back to the early jazz I started with. Mega thanks, Tuba Skinny; you're bringing much joy into my life. But I have to say: why do you guys looks so serious all the time? I mean, you're having fun, right?
They are clearly enjoying themselves and it is communicative. I feel better listening to them. They are just laid back and don’t make a show out of it. That would distract from their music which stands by itself.
I have always believed music can Inspire you, It can be life affirming, it can even be life changing. But it has to be the right kind of music to do these things. Tuba Skinny's music falls into this category.
True New Orleans jazz that was typical of the jazz you would witness from the street bands many years ago. Quite easy to listen to and want to make you grab your girl and shake a leg. Play their music on You tube all the hours I am on the computer. I plan to get their address and buy some albums and play them on my car CD while I am traveling. Makes my day.
I've played jug band music for nearly 50 years and there is so much overlap here in terms of songs, instruments, and the feel. Love the washboard, banjo, and tuba holding it down for all the great instrumentalists and vocals. Music 2tappa toe2
i've been a dixieland jazz , blues &" folk" music performer for 50 years ,[ stringed instruments and horns ] , and have been enjoying your music and energy since i first heard tuba skinny ! great artists all , perfect example of the ol' axiom = " the total is greater than the sum of the parts" ! i had a question for robin : = how do the thimbles stay on your fingers ? just a snug fit ? do you use tape , or is it not a problem ? i started to torture the washboard recently and was just curious . thanks much !!!
Tienen una pagina y ahi te indica como haces. No se nada de compus y los pude comprar. No son CD sino que te mandan un archivo zipeado que al abrirlo encontras la musica y las tapas.-
