I hope someone recognizes Erika's unusual and quite unique vocal arrangements and gets her in the studio while shes young and vibrant and her voice is at its peak performance. This little lady is packed with extraordinary talent. In my opinion she has made her mark on the industry and will be remembered as one of the greats. Shes that "one" that comes along every century. Thank you Erika for your contributions and for keeping this music alive. Im not sure if you realize your remarkable gift, but I do, and in time many will. I wish you many years of health, wealth, and success. Please keep cranking out these old tunes, in your own style, thank you.
@@raymonddixon7603 how would a guy in ireland know anything about a cajun girl with an angels voice singing the blues? Go back to ireland and take your opinion with you. Jackwagon.
Had the pleasure to see and hear Tubba Skinny at Pismo jazz festival 2019 they are fantastic only wished they could come back to Pismo beach, ca. again. What an incredible sound.
I just love the way Shaye keeps the band so tight with her nods to each player...Folks I can assure you it doesn't get much better than this band...I love them all and hope to meet them someday when I take another trip to NOLA...
ust 'melting' here in rainy cold UK for these fabulous stomping, syncopated beats and your gorgeous simple melodic swings....can't stop the need to dance!
J'aime tout ce qu'ils font, mais "Lovesick Blues" reste ma préférée ! Erika est vraiment l'âme des Tuba Skinny et ses "yodel" chantés en Suisse ont une incroyable saveur ! Quel bonheur !!
The band is actually going back to the June 1928 recording of this tune by white minstrel performer Emmett Miller in NY. He was backed up by white NY musicians including Tommy, trb; and Jimmy Dorsey,cl-as; Eddie Lang,g; Artie Schutt, p; and Stan King,d In the 20s musical forms often overlapped and that session is a very interesting one.
I can sit and write comments to Tuba Skinny videos all night. Gives me the opportunity to listen to them, again and again. That phrasing Erika. Fuck me.
I just responded to a person who said that Ericka and Tuba Skinny should be household names. As fans, we can help them along. When we get off You Tube to do something else, we can randomly talk about them. I’m a person who starts random conversations. We can include Tuba Skinny in our conversations. If we do enough of that, Tuba Skinny will be a household name. We can each say, “Have you ever heard of Tuba Skinny?” Regardless of the answer, we still talk about Tuba Skinny. The more we talk about them, the more people will know.
Hey from Ontario Canada. My dad used to sing this all the time. Would be 103 this year. Im a 60 yr old classic rock and blues fan . . This girl got it all going on
@@grahamcarter231 I’m ten years your junior. I grew up near Sault Ste Marie, Ontario on the American side. It’s cool that you like Classic Rock! So do I! I’m glad that your father loved Dixieland Jazz! I’m sorry that you don’t have your Dad on Earth with you! The World War II people were always the greatest!! I frequent New Orleans. I will look up Tuba Skinny next time I go there.
