Tubigon, Bohol, Philippines is a busy and vibrant town with a population of about 46,000. It is about an hour from Tagbilaran city and has several ferries each day going to Cebu City, Cebu. It has a public market and department stores for shopping.

Thanks Pete. There are areas of the Philippines, like Bacolod City, where brewed coffee is popular with Filipinos also, but most of the places I travel one has to settle for the 3 in 1 instant coffee.

I am so happy that you are not alone..I used to worry about you..it's always better to take your time and find a keeper..we ain't young anymore and can't hop around like all these younger guys do.. thanks again and keep the great videos coming because I am going to end up around where you are..I am taking care of business slowly so when I move to the Philippines I won't have to come back to the States three or four times a year..I won't have to come back for anything.. unless these world leaders start WW3..ha ha..but it ain't funny because it's very possible..I am privy to some military information that most people are not and we keep getting ready just like a rattle snake before it strikes..I would be more happy I think if I would die in the filipines..I am happy now,I just want to be more happy and experience being in love one more time before the fat lady sings..

Giday Rod mate, we have passed through Tubigon a couple of times when coming from Cebu and returning. Quite a nice little town we dined at McDonalds there and i was a tad disappointed at the beggar kids gazing through the windows at us. Mind, that also occurred at Jollibee on Gen. Maxillom St opposite Mango Park Hotel in Cebu years ago. It was surprising Security didn't move them on You don't see that here in NZ, that was back in 1997, that was my intro to the Phils. Cheers mate.

Daddybob ..I would surely buy some cheap burgers and fries and pass them out on my way leaving.. probably get them some drinks also..not every time but sometimes for sure..I am not saying anything against you because I would not do it every time..you just made me think about how lucky we are in USA..me and my x girlfriend used to go to the dollar store and get pop top can foods, plastic spoons, paper towels, crackers and make bags up and pass them out to the homeless under the interstate bridge in town where I live..it was her idea..I miss doing that but I don't miss her.. hehehe

@@richardhowe2386 Hi Richard, thanks for your comment, i'm not a mean person, i have been helping the underdog most of my long life, but i draw the line at encouraging begging, which is actually illegal in my beloved Philippines. My wife said they are not homeless children and have families who send them out on the streets to beg. Their modus operandi is to get you to feel sorry for them. Even in my country New Zealand, we have adult beggars operating in the citys, who employ the same tactics to get money, even though our Government provides financial benefits for practically all citizens. Kia Kaha.
@richardhowe2386
@richardhowe2386 5 лет назад
Daddybob ..you are exactly correct..I hate to admit it but I have always wanted to go to a city where nobody would know me and I would like to try begging just to see what I could make...I know exactly what you are talking about because I have helped many people through the process so government and charities can help them..you know a large percentage of homeless are alcohol or drug addicts..lots of them have severe mental problems..

Proceed to Eco Farm in Bogtongbod and Sagbayan Peak, how to get there, from Tubigon headout to Clarin then when u see a sign Sagbayan, turn right and keep going till u see the sign of Baranggay Bogtongbod, ask the locals about the Eco Farms. It is owned by the owner of Alona Beach in Panglao. Then the next village is San Agustin where Sagbayan Peak is located.

Good video Rod. I suggest that if you look for a place to settle in the Philippines, Look for a place that has elevation and drainage. I'm not talking about storm drains. I mean someplace within a few hundred meters where it drops off so you might be surrounded temporarily by a great inland sea but you probably won't have more than a few inches of standing water where you live. Don't count on storm drains. My ground floor apartment that I have now is at least 15 feet or 5 meters above the nearest paved road 80 meters away. No large amount of water is going to accumulate around my apartment and I'm certain I'm not going to get flooded. Elevation should be high on your want list for long term accommodation.
@AmazingPhilippines1
@AmazingPhilippines1 5 лет назад
Good point Robert. I was just reading about flooding in the USA and was involved in sandbagging in our little town in Minnesota while in high school. Many people don't think about this issue. Tsunami is also a potential risk out here in the pacific ocean.
@robertkubrick3738
@robertkubrick3738 5 лет назад
@@AmazingPhilippines1 I don't think you need worry that much about Tsunami in Cebu Rod. I did hear tell that an earthquake at just the right spot could cause a sort of tidal bore between the islands of Cebu and Negros but the chance of it happening is vanishing small. I wouldn't be considering a move to Mactan if I were really worried about it.

You are right about the driving skills Emma. I lived in Las Vegas and Phoenix deserts for many years where it gets much hotter much of the year. I thought the humidity would be difficult for me but I have acclimated well. Many from the SE and other southern US states tell me they think it is less hot and humid here. I just read an article today that more "Americans" are retiring in other countries.
