If you liked this movie, check out Dale (Tyler Labine) in “Someone Marry Barry”. It’s one of those hidden gems no one talks about, so you might just watch it for fun, not YT.
If you want to make all your fans happy and yourselves as well, you should check out Firefly and it's feature film Serenity. Best written sci to since the original trilogy.
aw shit, that was a funny movie... and yeah, the COLLEGE KIIIIDS HEY COLLEGE KIIIIIIIIIDS. Has to be used. That actor is one of the funniest out there.
This movie is so funny and clever in its upside down use of slasher movie tropes, and Dale is such a lovable character, and the friendship between Tucker and Dale was so endearing , and the budding romance between Allie and Dale was so cute that it all made "Tucker And Dale vs. Evil" five out five stars for me.
The number of times my husband and I say "Officer, it's been a doozy of a day" when we've had a clusterfuck of a day is almost embarrassing. It's permanently in our lexicon 😂
I want another movie with tucker, dale and Allie so bad as they have excellent chemistry. They could do “tucker and dale goes grocery shopping” and I’d watch 😂
Most wholesome slasher flick ever. 😂 My dad passed away a few years ago and this was the first movie that really made me think damn, he would have loved this one. (That and Violent Night now too, haha.)
You mentioned you didn’t want Tucker to die…that scene felt that way because he actually was supposed to die. But when they tested it, everyone reacted like you did, so they changed it so he survived 🙂
It truly is an underrated and under watched film. I happened upon a few years ago by accident. Just flipping through some cable channels. Seen it quite times ever since and it still makes me lmao. I am glad more people are discovering it now.
Anyway, how much truth is there behind the hillbilly myth? Is it really true that such inbred savages used to live in the US's mountains long time ago or is it just a joke? I'm Hungarian, so I don't know too much about these things. :))
Laugh till your side hurts moment in this movie for me was the whole..."He just hUcked himself into the woodchipper.... hide all the sharp objects" Tucker's racing out of the shot to "look for/gather the sharp objects" 😆 🤣 😂!!! ✌️😊👍
Such an underrated and unique gem. There really is nothing like it, a horror slasher romantic comedy. Hard to believe it hasn't been replicated after 12 years.
My dad and I are huge horror movie guys and I laughed my ass off watching this. My dad doesn't laugh very often but he was cracking up watching this as well. By far the best spoof out there. When that kid dove into the wood chipper and dale was wiping the blood out of his eyes and asks "are you ok?", we both almost pissed ourselves... hahaha
I heard that in the first cut of the movie, Tucker DID die near the end, but test audiences hated it, so they changed the scene to have him survive. Normally, I don’t like focus group plot changes, but this was probably for the better.
"He's gonna walk it off, he's gonna be just fine"... this movie kills me every time. Dale is adorable and I've never looked at another horror movie the same way again LOL Steven: Not the three kids who just died inside Nikki: F*ck 'em Me: Whoa, Nikki, Kids and animals, remember??? so... who are you and what have you done with my Nikki???
My favorite quotes “We go to the police.” “Call the police?” “Yeah.” “And tell em what?” “Uh, we’ll tell em what happened.” (Sarcastically) (scoffs) “That’s a great idea Dale.” (Sarcastically) “Oh, hidey-ho officer. We’ve had a doozy of a day. There we were minding our own business just doing some chores around the house when kids started killing themselves all over my property.” “Well, that’s what happened Tucker.” “You would have to be a moron to believe that Dale. It doesn’t matter what happened what matters is what looks like what happened and what looks like what happened is pretty nasty.” (Later with the cop) “Look, we’ve had a doozy of a day.” “A real doozy.” “Uh, there we were.” “Yep.” “Uh, minding our own business.” “Yep.” “Making some improvements to my new house.” “The new house.” “When, all of the sudden, out of nowhere, these kids… started killing themselves all over my property.” 😂😂😂 I died laughing so hard. And I thought it was funny too cause it was the exact same story they said NOT to tell.
I was actually in the Marine Corps when this came out. A lot of the Marines on Camp Lejeune were dressing up like these guys and quoting the movie. Favorite quote was when Tucker looked at all the gas and so nonchalantly says "Oh shit, I knew I should have moved that" As all the gas is on fire
It's so good to see this movie getting more attention and love, hopefully we'll get a sequel, since Chad's on the loose and we have no idea what happened to his bio dad's killing partner.
I can't believe this never got voted for! Thank you, Nikki, for just pushing it through. I heart Dale ❤️ He's so sweet. Also, I can never say no to some Alan Tudyk!
This movie is a hidden gem. Frickin amazing. My brother Sean, RIP, and I watched this the day it hit netflix and were floored. Amazing script, Alan Tudyk flawless and the entire cast on point. Top to botttom, perfect.
Don't forget that it stated at the start that all of this took place three days BEFORE the attack shown in the first scene, which means that Chad survived. (cue the inevitable spam reply...)
This film is a masterclass in subverted expectations, and I loved y'all's reaction. Nikki laughing so hard at the deaths was hilarious. In case y'all missed it, the opening scene was Chad murdering the reporter to show he survived at the end.
The guy (Jesse Moss) that plays Chad has been in three films that I know of. He played Jason McCarthy in Ginger Snaps, Jason Wise in Final Destination 3 and Matt in The Uninvited.
I really wanted to be there live for this reaction, but I couldn't, sadly. This is one of my all time favorite "horror" movies. I love when writers play with horror tropes or flip the script entirely. Another movie that does this really well is Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon.
This movie is seeing a bit of a Renaissance on reaction channels recently and I love it. It’s easily one of my favorite films from the horror/comedy genre.
GoodBadFlicks does an excellent video about the making of this movie, fun fact it was made ages ago and the studio shelved it with no intention of ever releasing it. And to think we were so close to not having this gem.
The "Popped" collar is a nod to the 80's preppie. It was not uncommon, back in the eighties, for a preppie to wear two Polo shirts at one time with both collars popped. Love this movie and loved your reaction!
I love this movie! I watch every Halloween. The actors are good especially Alan Tudyk. He cracks me up with his delivery of his lines and facial expressions. He is really good in Resident Alien also. 😂❤🎃
Heres a TV show I strongly recommend based on the fact that you like this movie. It is called Dead Like Me it consists of two seasons and a movie the movie takes place after the second season. Basically it was suddenly canceled after the second season and the ones behind it look for years to find someone to pick it up again and someone who like it agreed to make a movie too wrap up this show. Basically dark humor and deaths similar to this movie.
Other horror-comedies that play with slasher tropes you might like: "Behind The Mask: The Rise Of Leslie Vernon" "The Final Girls" and "Cabin In The Woods".
Did you remember the beginning of the movie, with the reporter getting killed? The killer was Chad, with half his face burned, so it was definitely him. In essence, Chad became the very thing he hated. He became his true dad
This was the first time I've seen this movie while watching it with you guys just now, and it was effing hilarious, I would have never thought to watch this on my own, I figured it was going to be about fighting zombies and ghouls in the woods, finally a different take on horror and comedy, definitely going to add this to my Blu-ray collection!!! 😂😂😂😂👏👏👏👍
So glad you both enjoyed this ❤️ I've seen a couple of peeps react and not understand the tone but imo, the tone is smart and funny as eff. Have a good day, you lovely pair 😘
I think more people have seen this in the past two months, than since it came out in cinemas.. Not that I'm complaining, as this film really does deserve far more recognition. Is there no end to the Awesomeness that is Alan Tudyk.??
Love this movie. A couple of the bloopers I remember we're one, in the beginning when Tucker is talking Dale into going and talking to the girls, he throws something in the truck and scares Jangers who clambers around and jumps off the tailgate. As they try to stop him. ( He was ok😉) it was funny. You notice in the scene he don't "throw" anything in the truck lol. And near the end when they go to escape in the pickup truck, when Katrina ( Allison) gets in she gets her hair caught in a hook that on the fishing pole hanging in the back glass. That had to cut. And redo the scene. Lol
Some of may fav old school movies - Fright Night(1985) - Highlander - The Howling - the Hitcher - Blade Runner(1982) - The lost Boys (1987) - Conan the Barbarian(1982) - The road Warrior(1981). Near Dark - This movie has the cast from Aliens, Terminator, and T2. I think because it is directed by James Cameron's wife at that time.. Kathryn Bigelow
So happy ppl are reacting to the actor Tyler who plays dale is one of my faves he was in the show reaper which was fantastic and another horror comedy film cottage country and the comedy someone marry Barry he's so underrated and always hilarious. Such a fun reaction
Happy to see how this movie is getting so much attention of late (it deserves it). Hopefully with all of the traction this movie is getting now someone will consider writing a sequel! Another movie that is different but I put in the same strange category as Tucker and Dale is Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon. I really hope reactors begin watching this movie as they have Tucker and Dale.
It seems like this movie has suddenly had a huge uptick in popularity. I'm all for it! This movie never seemed to get the love it deserved even though it's freakin' hilarious. This is such a fun movie and I remember when I first saw it I was expecting it to be a horror/slasher sort of movie...and it most definitely is not. It's even better.
