Because when we’re looking at home values and where they’ve been, we’ve now surpassed where they were during the covid years of 21019-2022. There’s nothing significant about those years when it comes to values. The significant aspects were the bidding wars we saw and experienced. Real estate since 2019 has gone up, had a slight dip in 2023, but has risen to an all time high going back 3+ decades.
@MasonInTucson I appreciate your balanced presentation so nobody knows when real-estate will do, but why 2019/2020 is important is if you had bought in 2006 in Tucson, then you would had to hold your property until atleast 2019 to get your money back. A lot of things happen in 13+ years of life, like new jobs, kids, etc, so most people cant live in same house that lomg. while I agree over the long term real-estate goes up in Tucson so I do think timing is important. IMO, right now, in Tucson, it is not a good time to buy better off renting for another year.
