Nice ad for Communist Romania there. Mind you, we have the equally doubtful charms of Qatar regularly paraded in the ads today...The TV Times piece on Paul Mc Cartney presumably to mark his appearance in the first South Bank Show the following weekend.
I can remember holiday adverts for Yugoslavia from that era, but I don't remember any for then actual 'Eastern Bloc' countries. In fairness to Romania, it may have been an easier sell than the Northern Ireland Tourist Board had back then.
Does anyone know who did the voiceover on the Romanian holiday advert? His voice is really familiar but I just can't put a name to it... Thanks for posting this great vid, by the way!
