look ik Doc may not care about subs, but we all really need to rally and get him that 100k subs plaque for YT, him and Mark are easily our best source of information outside the NHC and NWS when it comes to these situations

beryl is a warning. when the atmosphere cooperates in peak season. there likely will be a 180-200 mph hurricane core if things fall into place wrong

I’m in Lake Charles La and I’ve been saying privately to my family to keep an eye on this storm for our area (NW Gulf) for shifts. I remember Harvey exploded and shifted at the last minute (24-72) hrs

Thank you for the update. Will you know better if it’s going to hit in Mexico or Belize? Because they are completely on opposite sides, the track has showed all this time that it will cross at about playa del Carmen in Mexico, but you just said that it could hit Belize? Will know more by tomorrow I am sure. 👍

Well right now the storm center is forecast to track north of Belize, but the range of uncertainty still includes northern Belize, and the southern half of the storm could still impact Belize even if the center hits Mexico. Just have to be ready in case of a shift southward.

Thanks Levi. I'm sure that was a bit of a pain to do on a big travel day. The clip-on mic sounded great. Perhaps even better than your normal mic? There were two short episodes of distorted/broken audio, that each lasted ~5 seconds. That was probably your laptop getting sidetracked by something happening in the background. But all in all, it sounded great, and even a slightly distorted Tropical Tidbits episode is miles better than no episode at all! Thanks again, and good luck with the jet lag.

100% bad idea. 2 weeks ago they had a tropical storm stall for several days over Cancun and they had significant flooding. A direct hit with a hurricane will be catastrophic. They don't have the infrastructure to handle the wind or water loads. Nothing is up to hurricane building standards. I wouldn't go. I was there for the recent tropical storm, past hurricanes and go to Mexico half a dozen times a year.
