My son took me there in 2019 when he and his family lived in Missouri. He said to me, "here it is mom! Your trip to a quilter's Disney land" He was so right. May not get there again (husband is now disabled from a botched spine surgery) but I'll never forget my son traveling 3 hours to take me (I live 12 hours from Missouri). This shop is absolutely adorable! Thank you for sharing 😊
Oh wow, what an amazing store. You have such talented people around you. Sarah and her team should be very proud. Thank you, Annie, Ron, and Jenny, for showing us such a great place, and who knows, maybe one day, I might get to see it.❤
My husband and I were in Hamilton when there was only one store. I think it's time to go back!! Praying for safe travels for Ron and Jenny on their mission trip.
What a great shop. Such a perfect idea! Absolutely love all the details and fun stuff in it. Ya’ll knocked this one right out of the park. Hope I get to see it soon.
What a darling idea! Your family has the most inventive, creative, ingenious ideas in your quilts and your shops. Visiting your town is on my Bucket-list. My last and greatest experience before I actually kick the bucket!!!! Much love and continued success!!!
When I was very young my Mom got a teaching job. We were a large family, very poor. She spent every night of that first week of teaching, sewing a dress, so by the end of that first week she had made 7 dresses. I was so proud of her, thanks for the reminder.
Jenny, you look amazing. This new store is too cute. Thank you for the tour and thank you for all you and your wonderful team do for the quilting/sewing world💙🪡
oh I love the looks of the Fabric Market! That is genius and what a great nod to the butcher shop it once was!! @Jenny Doan, wishing you and Ron lots of fun experiences on you journey to Africa!
This is phenomenal!! Great job Sarah! I could stand there all day and then s.l.o.w.l.y walk around and look at all that deliciousness to take it all in. Just awesome! Now I need to visit Missouri Star again, especially for this one store :)!
We were in town just after the Eclipse, now I have a reason to come back! The town is so cute, I definitely recommend going out of your way to stop in! I love the "make the tourist feel welcome themes", and my son loved the man cave location.
I love your videos!! You are always so happy. I really get soo encouraged listening to you & your family. Your videos can turn a trying day into such a blessing.
Oh my gosh! I can hardly wait to come and see this and the home store! I’m also loving that there is another place to sit and refresh before doing more shopping!!
Thank you for the wonderful tour and for answering questions and just talking with us! I love your honesty- sharing your thoughts (which are often the same as I have) and that you don't have to have a ton of make up to be beautiful! I am a Missouri girl also and right now I cannot be there - so being outside with you today made my heart so happy! Bless you and prayers for all your family and employees!
Love this new store. Thank you for sharing. Don’t know if I can ever get to come it or your other wonderful shops. Been watching you from the beginning. Happy for all of you.
I watched this video several times and couldn’t find the pink sewing machine! Anyway, the creativity of the components in this shop is just over the top!!! You and Ron must have provided the most nurturing family life possible to grow such a creative family. You are really an inspiration to all. And lastly, we are all hoping you will do a “disappearing block” quilt book after this new series. Good luck in Africa. Love you!!!!!
OK- that does it!! I have GOT to get to Hamilton, MO to see EVERY. SINGLE. MSQ STORE. You are all so creative-Sarah , you outdid yourself with this latest shop! I love it and can’t wait for the day(s) to walk through and “gawk” at all the pretties on display. Congratulations to the entire Doan family for their success and wishing prosperous years ahead. Safe travels Jenny and Ron ❤
Wow what an awesome little shop I love it!! My dream to have a shop some day, your family is certainly blessed and an inspiration to all of us quilters! ❤
Jenny, you are always so happy and have such a pleasant temperament !! I am so enjoying this new MSQ segment Tuesday Newsday ! The sewing and quilting questions are so fun and all the ones we often think about but don’t know who to ask! It’s on my bucket list to one day attend a Doan girls retreat and visit Hamilton. I do not have any sewing friends….they just are not interested. I have always been crafty, making clothes, learning to cross stitch, crochet and then through your tutorials several years ago started making quilts. I may have to make a solo trip. Anywhoo ….. thanks for this new segment. It’s so fun!!! This new shop is adorable!!! Kudos to Sarah and her team!
Vintage sewing machines... OH YES. I own 3 child size machines, all work. I found a singer hand crank , ( crank is on the wheel), & 2 featherweight. 1 feather is a 1948, the other is a 1951, presidential model, special for the 100 year Singer. That was my grandmother's 2nd feather. It is also the one I learned to use when I was 4yrs old. Nana put the foot pedal on an overturned flower pot, gave me pcs if cotton & whatever she had, & after a lesson I was off & sewing. I still use both featherweight daily. Best machine ever!!! Also have a Brother, & 2 Janomes. Still go to the featherweight as favorite choice, always. Wish I had room for a treacle machine, love to use those. Also recently added a 4 harness, 36", floor loom. I was a weaver for 30 yrs, taught also, & needed to return to that Also. At 79 , with mobility issues, not sure if I could manage Hamilton, without a mobility cart, ( mine is too heavy to get there), since I live in Connecticut. If you had rentals for those it would be possibility for me. Love your whole concept. Thank you.
This new store is adorable. Theming the store around the former butcher shop is unique and so clever. I’m sure it will be a great addition to your family’s business.
what fun! i love the newest shop. your family is so creatively amazing. i went on a medical mission to western africa. what an incredible honor to see and serve others. so humbling after living in America. not for everyone. one person got sent home because she couldn’t deal w dirt squat bathrooms at one point. my philosophy is when in Rome do as the roman’s do! haahaa no paper for the johns, only in America
I have a teal blue Morse that my mom bought when I was about six years old ( I’m 69 now) it was my first machine to learn to sew on. She needs to be serviced but like you said she weighs a ton 😊
I love conversations with you! You have such a personable way about you! Your new Fabric Market made my mouth water with all the flavor options! It’s a fabulous idea! Catbird Quilts is all about quilting with old shirts! She shows how to cut them apart and uses all kinds of sizes. Her website is very enjoyable! I am so glad that we will be seeing you on your trip! Your dress is beautiful!
