Played semi-pro with him one year in Delaware. I think he might have been late 40s or early 50s. He was there more for the love of the game than anything else, and he was always the most fun guy at the game. Such a great guy... LOVED the Tugger.
Tug was so much exciting, you knew he was going to put us on a tight rope, but you knew he was going to get us through it. but off the field, he was a nice man and very thoughtful. met him a few times and got to talk with him about 3 years before he passed. his insights into the game, but also into how we could use sports to pique children's interest in mathematics and science were well thought out and i believe would actually work if implemented.
@fukkincalderonz Hey thanks for letting me know! 🤗 I'm an athlete myself & just to think that Tim's all-time favorite ⚾️ player was his real Dad, whom he found out about 12 years is his Father! Amazing!
Adequate fastball, nice curve, really good screwball, changes speeds. Its incredible to think the Mets had Seaver, Koosman, Gentry, Matlack, Ryan and McGraw. That would have been the greatest pitching staff ever.
just something i noticed that i never did before, on the day the Phillies clinched the division in 1980, our usually stellar defense made 5 errors. 5 errors and still won the game, but just our usually rock solid defense made 5 errors.
McGraw belongs in the HOF. He doesn't have the Save numbers of a Fingers or Rivera because he was never a closer. He was a middle inning reliever whom you hardly ever had to bring in a closer for. I'd have to check but I bet he has one of highest innings per game ratios of most relief pitchers with similar number of appearances.
Thanks for heart I am always following u in RU-vid due to some problems I didn't got time well the best content well pls tell me your favorite mlb team.
