Thank-you! That was my intention; take it from a view perspective, but don't give too much away so people can see the models for themselves too. I did have a shot of me walking into the room for the first time and be greeted by the models but I was so overwhelmed looking at the models I didn't realize the camera was focused on the floor the whole time! :) It really is a brilliant thing they've been able to go on tour. I'm guessing your favourite two characters are Top Hat and Grampus/someone else? :)

Remeber how in high tide how captain star said top hat should work or he would be sitting on garbage? Sad that may be true:( The models were sold to all over England,America,and Australia.they were bought by a liquidation company and who knows we're top hat and grampus are.one theory here on RU-vid is that top hat was converted for thomas and at Thomas land,2 randome boats are listed as things they have their.there probably heavily modified top hat,and izzy.i bet grampus is in a box like the others,remembering the good old days of production,and were his tugboat friends are now.haha it would be funny if they actually could talk.top hat may be one of those ships,or in another box,thinking how uncivilized it is haha!

Hi, Fortunately the models were found in 2012 along with some of the facemasks, owned by a private owner who sold them to the Star Tugs company in 2013. Zebedee's model was not used in Thomas afterall. The tug seen in S5 is apparently a different model all-together! However, it can be proven that the Coast Guard was used in Thomas from S3. The group are still on the search for Top Hat and Grampus and as far as I'm aware OJ is staying as he is for now. Nice to have a bit of Thomas history as well as TUGS!

Terrier55Stepney Top Hat is my favourite of the tugs and I'm still incredibly disappointed that he's yet to be found. I wonder what happened to the railway barges.

If they were to repaint OJ, I’d imagine they’d have to do it with kid gloves on. Most of these models are in such a sad state, I’d treat them with the delicacy as if they were made of glass. I think i recall seeing a video where i don’t remember if it was Big Mac or Warrior, but he had a crack along his back side.

I read somewhere Mattel has Johnny Cuba, Izzy Gomez, and the coast guard stored somewhere there, apparently

Well spotted there, but I'm afraid that Billy's concerned expression was actually used in season 1, albeit not very often. So this isn't actually a prop from S2, just a rare piece that wasn't seen often in S1 (It was seen briefly in Up River). As for Sea Rogue/Bluenose and Boomer/Old Man, It is likely that these characters were to be seen in S2, so as not to put the models to waste, but that is all we know of for now. If you want more clarity on information I advise you read over the TUGS Wikia pages, which are updated very frequently.

I don't think they plan to repaint OJ, but rather preserve him as the sole example of a main character re-purposed for Thomas.

@@Terrier55Stepney It sure was. I heard they were going to air the original TUGS in America, but it got cancelled and was replaced with Salty's Lighthouse. If the original TUGS show had a proper US version, then Jim Cummings would make a pretty good US voice for Bluenose.

unfortunately not... the models were broken up for Thomas and friends. i believe puffa's smokebox can be seen in some scrapyard scenes in seasons 3-6

Definitely! It was mind-blowing walking into the room where they were; you only half know what to expect. People always say these models are huge, but when you see them personally they're bigger than just words! Absolutely amazing, and the railway had a lot of interesting things to see too, like an LMS Princess Royal class, and lots of miniature railways and models to see. I'd definitely recommend future events seeing the models.

DomtheHornbyfan97 There are plenty of plans in the works for them to go elsewhere. After all, it is a 'tour' as such. I'm still bidding on a Southern trip to the Mid-Hants or Bluebell, but I guess that'll have to wait. They have done a mini tour round Scotland mind.

Probably inspired by them, but I think they were most likely piano keys like with TTTE, meaning they could play them at different speeds, lengths etc.

BluTackGuy I love Tugs too, so much effort and nostalgia in that show. Unfortunately Puffa's model hasn't been found as yet. Rumour is he was cut up and used as set dressing for Thomas and Friends from Series 3.

BluTackGuy Also, apparently they used the model of the goods engine as a scrapped engine in one of the TTTE episodes.

Terrier55Stepney Meh, the lost of Puffa or the Goods Engine shouldn't be that bad, mainly because they were modified from Marklin engines. Therefore, it shouldn't be too hard to rebuild them.

Luftwaffles 99 I remember hearing that Marklin models were also used as basis's for the engines from Thomas And Friends.

As far as we know of, Izzy Gomez' model is amongst the storage of the Thomas and Friends props, as the model was seen from season 3+. As for Bluenose, his model is really Sea Rogue's, repainted and with a different wheelhouse! :) Seeing as each tug cost about £6-8 grand each to make to save money by making interchangable characters was a great idea! Boomer and Sea-Rogue's Uncle are another example of this. Look closely at Sea Rogue's model in this video and you can see that underneath one of his name-plate's it reads 'Bluenose'. Also, on his base he is evidently painted grey, Naval grey :D

What did they use for the ghost tugs?

Mr Robo-Vision I'm not 100% sure but the likelyhood is that Burke and Blair and the two pirates were transformed into the four ghost tugs. Of course don't take my word on that one but that's the most likely theory. There's tonnes more information about the models on the TUGS Wikia pages! :)

By the way I just want to also tell you that I was allowed to hold a couple of the top hat and grumpus face masks. Also I was allowed to turn the head and open the hat to see the eye mechanism! There is a video of me opening sunshine's hat, Burke and Blair's hat, searouge/blunose hat and uncle/boomer

Well recently I've been uploading mainly unlisted videos for other people, or giving lines to people, making TUGS models etc. Also, I've completed my next episode, Backfire, seen here: Backfire MK1 and will be uploading that within the next couple of weeks with added fire effects from SmudgersPKMN! Now I'm re-working on my Christmas special :)

Okay :).Your a great writer.Ive written a Christmas special to!Mines set christmas 2022(Remeber im remaking all the RWS,Adapting season 5-6 TVS episodes and charectors from the TVS but making them have more realistic backgrounds and coming to sodor 1970-2000s,so they will have realistic stories of their first day on sodor,like emily had to pull annie and Clarabell because thomas had to go help percy,who had crashed and other stuff.So by then,it probably would have been years ago by the time I make it:)!I need to write a tugs Christmas special,I plan on giving all the tugs christmas hats instead to!:)Nice video!

ah thanx's i just didnt know iif it was OJ or not buy the name on his hull he is my favery 1 becoz he looks so vintage ig i ever see him for real i'd take a gud few picture's of him close up & selfi's so OJ is fectured in thomsd the tank engen? & may i ask u if he's got an age or like a fan group? i beczae intrested in OJ becoz of the epasode were he was out doing his normal stuff unn till he was called old timer he didnt take the bull seriously & my best wishes goe's to OJ for were ever he is now i hope he & his tug family live on for years to come & if he goes up for sale ( witch i dout ) u'd defently get him a hope & im thinking of starting a little gift up for @OJ (facebook/twitter page)

Zip :) Mainly because of his difference to the rest of the characters, He's clumsy, innocent and although he's on the evil side of things, he knows when to help out in situations. Second favourite character would be Sunshine :)

Ten cents is mine :) He's loyal,hard working,and a friend for life. Then theirs Hercules,a gentle giant,willing to help and is a brotherly figure. Then Big Mac,ruff tug with a heart of gold Boomer,a jinx trying to redeem himself was humble to everyone Sunshine,a happy little tugs always seeming happy to work.kinda like percy Warrior,such a clux,but how could you not love him

The hull, yes, and the superstructure upwards is slightly altered for each.

Zip and Sunshine though for some reason I say Sunshine like ThunThine when I talk about him

Bluenose and Sea Rogue shared the same model. So, underneath Sea Rogue's name is Bluenose's.

The models were in a container for a long time and got damaged 3. The props had gone to the USA, UK and AU and all the models were sold 4. The tugs face masks were found in a rubbish skip in london 5. Top hat is probably wearing his shocked face as it wasn't sold with the other faces

However, the trust already know of these clues because they've said so before :P And btw I actually said in this video that Top Hat is likely wearing his shocked face :P Great minds think alike! Rumor is that some of the facemasks were sold off abroad, mainly to AU. It is likely that a liquidation company came and removed the models when the show ended, and it was at this stage the facemasks and models were probably separated. The models have been damaged over the years, but not enough to prevent them touring the UK! :D My personal guess is, like Sally Seaplane's spare model, Top Hat and some of the other TUGS props are still at Shepperton Studios lost in storage or with their owners. Either that or private ownership again, outside the studios. I hate to be a pessimist, but there is no information to say that when Top Hat was separated from the others he happened to take the wrong river and ended up in the rubbish heap. :P

Yeah the remotes are owned by the trust as well, and all the wires and circuits are still in tact in the hulls, but a lot of the electronics need replacing.
