In 2018, NYU School of Medicine made a historic commitment to provide full-tuition scholarships for all MD students, regardless of financial need. Robert I. Grossman, MD, Saul J. Farber Dean and CEO, along with Rafael Rivera, MD, MBA, Ariel Ostad, MD, and four current medical students, offer insights into how scholarships can transform peoples’ lives and advance healthcare.

Students shed tears. All of them could just focus on their studies. If they are from different states, their parents just have to worry about accommodation and living expenses. It would be great if others, hopefully actors, singers pull their resources to finance accommodation for students who are from different states. Perhaps the hostels. As for food, improve quality and variety of food.

I am on a visa right now but i will have to convert to f1 by the time i have to apply for med schools and it has been my dream to go to this school for years until i found out they don’t accept int students. It sucks how America treats international students, we can’t even follow our dreams appropriately anymore, there’s always obstacles in our paths.

@treasurebannister6000
@treasurebannister6000 6 месяцев назад
@@TasmiyaFarooque Well I'm doing research on this school right now, and I've read that they do accept international students, you just need to have American qualifications, (like bachelor's/master's degrees, and mcat scores etc.) and you need to be really, really, really, really, REALLY smart and well rounded to get accepted. The best advice I could tell you would to be to plan out how you want your credentials/Resume/Portfolio to look by the time you graduate undergrad and to start studying for the MCAT from the first summer after your freshman year. Plan out EVERYTHING from extracurriculars, to shadowing doctors during winter/summer breaks, internships/externships, gaining clinical experience, being in student clubs relating to your chosen major/or possible medical specialty, holding leadership roles in these clubs, and try to do a hefty amount of research. If it's possible, I'd suggest joining your school's honours college as well and look into dual programs that can help you get your Master and Bachelor degrees simultaneously. Having a Master's degree, although expensive, can add to the level of dedication that you have to become a doctor, and help you gain more scholarship funding for medical schools in the USA. Try to be as intentional as possible and try to keep your grades at the bare minimum of a 3.6. Interact with the faculty at your undergrad pre-med school and if any research opportunities arrises, especially ones that could be published with your name on it as a research assistant, do it. You are going to need some nice letters of recommendations, so interacting with your school's faculty could help, and to better help you choose what topics to study as a pre-med student, you should meet with your pre-med advisor(s) at least twice a year to make sure that your resume/portfolio is ready for any and everything that a medical school might want to see from an applicant. It's better to be safe than sorry. Edit: If you're an International Student, try to have/gain a relationship with you DSO (Designated School Official), because even if they don't know much about you goals as medical student, they can still help you with getting on campus jobs among other opportunities, you wouldn't be able to get without some form of recommendation. Try to have an initial meet up with them during your first or second week of school as a freshman. having that bond/relationship with them could affect you more positively, as your DSO can also become a mentor that you can confide in during difficult times while completing your studies. And for all of my fellow Christians out there, pray and ask God to direct your paths and send opportunities your way so that you can have a beefy college graduate resume and so that your are successful in everything that you do, in order to bring glory and honour to His name. Keep praying for success and make sure that above all else, you put Him first. Ask for some of His wisdom and guidance and ask that He keeps you from the horrors of burnout and whatever else the enemy might put in the way to stop you from achieving your dreams. Another Edit: You could even ask God to send people your way to keep you motivated, or to even be a friend to you, that may have similar interests. (I hope that made sense). You could even ask the Lord to send your Church Leader with a message of encouragement or befriend a Church Leader who might later become someone that you can confide in - because they are more likely to pray for your well being and success - even if they don't understand your situation entirely. Work hard, pray hard and always come back and show up for yourself and for God. Jesus died for a reason, (because God loves you and he want to shine His light through you to bring glory and honour to Him in Heaven). Also, try to enjoy the journey as well. Below I left a link to their website to back up that they do accept International Students. If you made it this far, then you are about as dedicated/serious as I am to pursuing medicine and saving lives in the name of the Father. I hope all of you do succeed and that God works out your situation so the you all can get into a great medical school, even if it isn't this one - debt - and loan free. Be safe and be blessed. P.S. I'm sorry if this was really long, I wanted to give you ALL of the advice and help that I got from my research. Lol! ~Treasure. med.nyu.edu/education/md-degree/md-admissions/admissions-requirements#:~:text=we%20also%20accept%20applications%20from,the%20United%20States%20or%20Canada
