Tulgey Beat's debut EP draws on nature and nurture, with energised party movers and slow jams weaving through the EP. The opener, Spider Flight, brings heavy-hitting horn lines that echo classic afro-beat energies to give the opening track a raucous party feel.
This is followed by Hot-Cocoa is a track that draws on high-life sensibilities and a guitar-led groove. The tune evokes the smooth sensations of Hot-Cocoa before a surge in the speed caused by the inevitable sugar rush.
Dirty Noodles is a down-tempo slow-jam written to ease the listener after the high-energies of the previous two tunes. Guilt-free dining is
recommended when consuming the slow and sensual horn lines in the hope of providing a delicious day-dream for all who choose to eat.
The final track, Chasing a Penguin provides a bit of attitude and aggression to the affair. Call and response lines between the horn parts eventually give way to a speedy guitar solo before everyone eventually gives chase to a final roaring trumpet solo.
