Donuts - Tulumb (Turkish: tulumba tatlısı, Greek: τουλούμπα, Cypriot Turkish bombacık, Cypriot Greek πόμπα (pomba), Persian باميه (Bamieh), Armenian: պոմպ (pump) or թուլումբա (тулумба), Albanian Tulumba, Bosnian Tulumba, Bulgarian, Macedonian , Serbian: Tulumba) is a popular dessert found in the kitchens of the former Ottoman Empire. This fried dough, soaked in syrup, similar to Dzhalebi and Chuross. It is made from a piece of custard dough (about 3 cm long) with a small egg-shaped form with crests along it, first roasted to a golden color, and then the sugar sweet syrup pours out on it when it's still hot. It is eaten cold.
Tulumb's donuts are also found in Iranian cuisine as bamiyas, and in Egypt as ashy balls (Arabic: بلح الشام), while it is called in Iraq as Dutli (Arabic: داطلي). In the Arab world it is also called بلح الشام (balls alsham)
