Storyline :-
While driving her car, Kamini (Shyama) runs over a young man (Dev Anand), who is seriously injured.
She stops the car, and takes him to a hospital, where it takes several weeks for him to recover.
Kamini visits him daily even while he is unconsious. When he recovers, she is attracted to him,
and offers him employment with her dad Seth Mothumal's (Gope) business as a manager.
After being discharged from the hospital, he takes up the employment offer, and is hired by Mothumal.
He is also invited to dine at Mothumal's house by Kamini, and there he comes a mute maid-servant named Asha (Nimmi).
Asha is attracted to him, and he also feels attracted towards her, little knowing that his past has come
to re-visit him in her form, and not knowing the changes it will bring to his life.

Sahir's emotion filled poetry, Lataji's painful voice added by S D Burman all out experience in composition made this song crossing 7 decades. To my opinion the Central Government should anounce this song as a mark of respect to those dearer we lost. The day and time in every year should mention. I hope those who come to this page will support this small initiative.

Yaad na jaaye beete dinoki... those days will never come back and with a deep voice, I ask myself, Tum na jaane kis jahan mai Kho gaye? I hear another voice, guzara hua zamana aata nahi dobara!!! Those were the days Sachin Dev Burma ji, Lata ji, Sahir Sahab and of course Nimmi ji. The song is immortal. We do not have such songs nowadays. It’s over 60 years and this song is still new. Wow! Those days. Thank you for the song. My favourite.

Aao tum ko dekh lein Doobti nazron say hum WOW, I can never come up with these lines even if I was given 100 years’ time. Even if you don’t know the language you will thoroughly enjoy the song, but if you understand the poetry then you will truly appreciate this masterpiece. Every time I listen to this song, tears pours out from my eyes. Listening to Lata Mangeshkar's songs gives one the feeling of spending time on the banks of the river and watching the magic river water flow --- smooth, gentle and serene. The enchanting voice of Lata Mangeshkar has produced some timeless classics, captivated the connoisseurs of music, has given lots of pleasure to the body, mind and soul, and enhanced our lives with nostalgia and sentimentality. I just cannot believe that the person who stamped her indelible imprint on me with her renditions has left this world. I wonder if there is any music lover who would not get this sentimental feeling. A song from 1951 (70 years ago), Love is lost: Starts with, "who knows where you disappeared, I am all alone in this world. Death is not on the horizon, neither hope is vanishing. Come please, so I can see you for once before closing my eyes (for the last time)". Sahir magician (the poet) penned this for those of us who somehow survived (pl. read, did not die), is survival that important??? There is only one who can sing as good, our Darling Chitra Singh.

This song is memory of my favourite mom who really took birth as my cute daughter again. She foretold that she would be coming back as a girl child to any of her sons particularly mentioning my second brother and me out of four brothers and one sister when I was just 12 years old.. She left to abode of God when I was 13+. She is my daughter now and tells me I am your mother reborn now and feeds me food with her own tiny baby hands and tells me, "I love you so much naanna"! 🌹🌹🌹👏👏👏

In Nairobi Kenya, we used to have a one hour slot for the Indian songs and we all used to be glued to the radio station just to listen to the world's most beautiful songs. That was way back in the 60s. Beautiful memories and beautiful people. Thank you for bringing back the memories.

Richness of melody,music by S D Burman, meaning words by Sahir Ludhianvi and great acting by Nimmi all ingrained in this song.It will be injustice if Lata ji's contribution is not heightened.So touching and so beautiful.

गजब के शब्द हैं,गजब की मिठास और आवाज है और गजब का संगीत रचना है।पता नहीं लूट कर ये जहां वास्तव में कहां खो गए।संगीत,शब्द और आवाज सचमुच कहीं खो गए हैं।दिल को छू कर गाना समाप्त हो गया है और हम भी बस किसी जहां में खोकर रह गए हैं।

Absolute GEM. Beautifully rendered by the most melodious voice on this earth namely lataji, beautiful lyrics by Sahir sahib and of course great music by Sachindev Burman. No wonder Tendulkar got Sachins name. Why do only sad songs touch you like no other? Psychologist can answer that. By the way, all these greats of 50s to 80s Golden age of filmi music all are gone from Rafi sahib to Talat, all mdirectors, lyricist except lataji. Now only we feel that we've lost them all now.
