This is a six-week review of my Tumbleweed Worm farm.
I have been using this farm to raise baby worms and had a couple of problems with it.
I really like the catchment system for the liquid but not so fussed on the inside handles anymore.

Marty you should use that run of for organic hydroponic for lettuce and herbs etc on the side, kraky method think that's how its spelt, I use my old coffee glass jars for just this except I use a hybrid method as the top is a small plastic plant pot with soil, drop seed and when seed has sprouted abit fill jar with nutrient water.

Good to have your honest opinion on these bins. Maybe you could put a tray of water underneath the feet of the farm to prevent ants invading?

Hi Marty great videos, I bought a tumbleweed cube same as yours and 1000 worms from bunnings. It's been going for 2 weeks now and thriving looks like worms are very active but I have a problem and best to ask the pro, I have by what it looks like tiny pointy snails started to appear not sure how they got there or if they are harmless to the worms. Also my lid is warped aswell but not as much I just put a couple half brick to close it. Any help with the little snail thing would be great 👍 thanks

I spotted that the lid wasn’t sitting right at the beginning of the video, I thought it may of pushed it down correctly but thanks confirming the lid wasn’t fitting right. Possibly is the warm weather, but they should test for these things in manufacturing and design stage.

@@martysgarden you should of returned it for an exchange as a faulty unit or contact the manufacturer/Distributor for a replacement. You have a invoice or receipt that will help take a photo as well of the defect. Have a good weekend Marty.

still not sure if to buy one.... if outside...I do not have trees to shade the farm and worried about ants getting into it....then you have to find containers to fill with water for the legs...

I find generally outside it's okay for ants if you keep the bedding moist. They dislike water

They're are both a waste of money, when 2 simple tote boxes do the exact same by drilling a series of holes in bottom of the top tote and elevating it using either 2 bricks or 2"x4" timber blocks inside the bottom tote.... $150-$200 for labelled worm farm $30 for 2x 60litre totes from Bunnings No rocket science required 👍
