A memory is a blurry collection of thoughts from past. Some memories are beautiful enough to be cherished and you want to turn back to them again and again. The classic play Tumhari Amrita was inspired by Love Letters, two people growing up falling in love, staying in distant lands but never apart Amrita was inspired by Amrita Shergill who was an artist. Small snippet of audio for memory's sake

I read about this play in a magazine. I was in my early teens then, and, quite unlikely for my age, already a fan of Shabana Azmi & Farooq Sheikh. Loved several of their movies. Really intrigued by the concept of this play, and wanted to watch it. But growing up in a very small town, we are deprived of such options. Thank you🙏🏻 for this audio clip. Loved it. ❤

I think you are using wrong images… it was Amrita pritam and not Amrita Shergil

I have heard a lot about this play but It’s the first time I am listening to it. Never expected that Shabana and Farukh will make the conversation so lively with their magical voices. Thanks for uploading.

I have seen this play 3 times, it always always makes me cry.. there is a beauty in its melacholy and sadness. the language , the poetry , the wit..

I saw it only once this was a little after the 2008 attacks in November. The show had gotten postponed for a week and Farooq Sheikh was a little disturbed it seemed but I still found it magical. The poetry, wit is really amazing. The last lines of the play go something like Amrita ek nadi ki tarah thi and somehow Zulfi captures her tempestuous ness while eugolizing her, has stayed with me forever.

Was fortunate to see it 7 times from age 19 till my mid 30s... and yes, tears would well up sometimes, what sript, what a lovely adaptation!! Feroze Abbas Khan, Shabana and Farooq Saab in theatre were like RD, Asha and Gulzaar saab in playback!!

Pritam was a poet, and Sher-gill was a painter. Here, it tells you that she paints... so, I guess this amrita is Amrita Sher- Gill

Yes it was Amrita shergill.. Amrita Pritam play is different it has Shekhar Suman and Deepti Naval and a lot of poems

Once while i was watching tv in Amsterdam,saw these letters played live on stage by these two amazing actors...since then ive been searching for them. Would appreciate if you could help locate them

Two actors that you are both Indians. Farooq Shaikh (male actor) who died in 2013. Shabana Azmi is a legendary actress of Hindi film industry and live in Mumbai.

I think the makers of this play have a full recording that was done before mr Farooque Sheikh passed away but they have never released it.
