Yes, everyone else brushes them off as expensive and move on to review black ember and ear Hope tumi gets notice and starts inviting biogear to events or something
bought this a few months ago, thanks to your review and it does not disappoint. Carry it with me almost daily now. Big, but yet incredibly comfortable and just lots of S P A C E. When travelling with it, I use it in combination with a couple of packing cubes and it has amazing organised capacity
nice. i bought mine (the navy blue/khaki version) after watching this review. Got a 25% discount from Tumi Malaysia via their semi-annual sale. Apparently bought the last unit.
I’m looking into getting this bag to pair it up with my Tumi carry on. Was wondering how big would this be on a 5’1 petite person? And would it easily fit in under most international airline under seat storage? Thanks for a thorough review BTW!
I'm 6' tall and it does hang down my lower back. As petite as you are, I wouldn't be surprised if it began to cover your behind. That being said, it does carry a formidable amount of clothing. It will fit under a seat, but will take a little of your feet room since its so tall (21"). Hope that helps!
Ive used the Logistics Flap Lid Backpack for about a half year and quality and comfort is stellar. Never paid that much for a back pack coming from a Topo Klettersack. Was surprised that both did not come with a sternum strap. Luckily a Mystery Ranch works perfectly for the Logistics Tumi backpack. Been eye balling the expedition but not sure it would be a big upgrade in space from the Logistic flap. Great review dude!! Wish Tumi would put the Liter qty on them
Great channel for Tumi. It helps Tumi to sell their backpack. This is where you'd get the best presentation for most Tumi backpacks. Most Tumi stores employees don't know nothing about Tumi backpacks. Lol.
It's got to be between the Navigation and Nomadic. If I could only keep one, I'd likely keep the nomadic even though I love the smaller size of the navigation. The nomadic tickles my fancy just the right way, outstanding backpack.
Great video yet again! this helped me make my decision in getting the bag in addition to my Search & Advanced Brief! Just a question, which of the Tumi toiletry/travel packs did you buy for the bottom compartment? Could you share the link to it? Looks like it was built perfectly for that compartment and I like the orange accents! Thanks once again for being the main man for Tumi stuff!
So that was a Tumi Reno toiletry kit, which they no longer sell. The replacement model is the Response kit: www.tumi.com/p/response-travel-kit-01425091041/
I have already bought Tumi search backpack last week , enough to put in rog 16inch G614JZ and 330-Watt AC Adapter , but Expedition backpack also seems like a good design !
I absolutely appreciate that! Hoping one day Tumi starts working with me to get review models. But I agree, I absolutely love my Nomadic and this one just doesn’t feel like it could replace it for me lol.
Thanks VERY much for these reviews. Very few TUMI reviews. I am a 3 day, on a plane, and need to take an extra pair of business shoes. And I want to do it all with a backpack that I can stuff under the seat in front of me. Is there a TUMI backpack that can do this!??
This expedition bag is a prime candidate for carrying lots of clothing and the bottom compartment can likely fit a pair of shoes. It may be worth considering, other options like the tumi Packing and Excursion backpacks are in line.
I’m trying to get a tumi bag, I don’t get the design choices. Most have no dedicated space that will fit a midsize water bottle. Once you remove the filling they stuff it with, the bags look very deflated and cave in. Very restrictive functionality for $700-$1000 bags
A majority of their bags seem to hold their shape pretty well, you just can’t grasp the bag with a fist or it will squish in. The search and nomadic do look like they can hold good size water bottles. If you have a tumi store around, try to fit one and see how it works for you
Great video. Love you channel. Question for you - I am looking for another Tumi backpack for travel. I have the Alpha Bravo Rolltop from a few years ago. Love it, but it's about 1 good external pocket shy of being perfect. Am thinking the Search would be the best one for me. Thoughts?
The Search is an easy recommendation because of how versatile it is. I prefer slimmer bags so I personally lean towards Navigation, but the Search will absolutely cover a lot of use cases and utility.
One may come, but no plans yet, I'm watching one on ebay but they still want 600. It's a large bag, very open layout which I don't usually gravitate to, but that wont stop me from trying to get one for review!
I would believe so. It’s using that anti abrasive fabric and that stuff is absolutely water repellent. The fact the top is shielded by that would put me at ease getting rained on. Still don’t like getting rained on though 😏
@@calvinvincentius9184 I like bags that don't fall over with my laptop in them, and that thing wouldn't stand up on its own. The top flap sagged forward a lot, and the laptop sleeve isn't gusseted so basically its a combination of stuff I can't stand in one package lol. Tumi makes too many nice bags for me to keep that one!
As you saw in the video, the navigation is much more normal sized, the expedition is large. If you are traveling and need to carry plenty of clothing, toiletries etc, the expedition looks extremely travel friendly. The navigation is a great every day backpack, with enough room for a laptop and most daily essentials, like a hoodie. I wouldn’t buy an expedition for daily office travel
@@BioGear I'm a once a week hybrid worker traveling between 2 locations (city/suburbs). Would this suffice to carry 2 laptops and possibly a 12.9" iPad Pro?
@@BioGear that's awesome!! Btw, I am m currently debating between the Renegade / Expedition / Alpha Travel Packing Backpack, as a daily work + gym bag. May I know your thought on this?
@@dathisper Nice! If it's just for daily work and gym, the renegade should have enough space. Its the smallest of the three you listed. The expedition is very tall but can hold a lot of stuff, and I've yet to see a packing backpack in person. Those two are both quite big though. If it doesn't bother you to have a big backpack, I did like the expedition. If you don't think you'll carry all that much with you, consider the renegade (or Nomadic, which is one of my favorites lately.)
@@BioGear thank you so much for the reply man! The reason I am picking from these three is that I like to have the built-in shoe compartment, so that I don't need to carry sport shoes separately. I think the appearance of the Renegade also sorta fall in the middle between the outdoor / business scale haha
@@dathisper understandable! I just swung by tumi during lunch and they finally got a packing backpack in! It's a neat bag. Very deep though, so it sticks far off the back. With that in mind I'd personally pick the expedition but everyone is different.
You ever bought something and realized after using/wearing it for a few hours you don’t like it? That was this bag for me, I knew I wanted to return it within a full day of use so decided to cover what I learned and let it go back. Not to discredit what I know about backpacks, I have been buying, using, and reviewing Tumi’s for a long time. Your feedback isn’t wrong though, I’d generally rather use something for awhile before reviewing, just didn’t want any more time behind this one lol.
