Dr. Williams with all due respect but isn’t the proper way to access if someone is eligible for tummy tuck is by determining if the patient has a diastasis? Clearly when this patient sits down she will have folding excessive skin below the navel so in my opinion she will be better off with a mini tummy tuck from the start instead of having to come back for a second procedure. Yes, patients are the ones that choose but I think she will be better off getting a mini tummy vs lipo. Thanks
The strong question that I have is this : Why don't we do both ? I mean since anyways the belly is opened for a tummy tuck , can't the doctor just scrap that fat before tightening the skin ? Or in case that is not an option , why not doing lypo first then go for tummy tuck ?
It's because the belly is not open for one. We don't go inside the body for a tummy tuck. We are only operating outside of the body to remove the skin and fat. And number two is you can't remove internal fat as it is in your organs and trying to remove it would be fatal. I have a similar situation! My skin elasticity is pretty good I think if he takes my pocket off fat from the lower belly I will just fine with it bc I know my belly will be much flatter

It seems that there should be a pre-qualification to bring your body fat % down to a pretty minimal level first. There’s quite a bit of overall fat that can be reduced easily with good nutrition and some exercise.

Hi Dr. William, I am five months post-op as of tomorrow and am just now noticing irregularities in my lower stomach this week. I am snatched and look great in clothes, but wondering if the irregularities mean I should have a TT instead of 360 only? I had 5-6 consults before selecting my surgeon; only one recommended a mini TT. The rest said 360 only. I am 46, have four kids, 5'6 and 135 lbs at surgery, currently 129. Is some of the wrinkling simply age-related?

That's a good question. The massages are limited to the areas of liposuction and not the gluteal area. You can lay on the massage table safely as long as it is necessary to carry out the massages.
Yes! All of my tummy tucks are done with liposuction. The tummy tuck removes the skin and tightens the muscle but it is made much better with liposuction. Liposuction is the most powerful tool we have to change the shape of the body.
@@DrWilliamMiami Thanks for your response. I would like your opinion in this case. I had a liposuction along with Jplasma (bad decision) in February of this year in my country. Unfortunately the Jplasma didn´t work and I had a excess of skin. I had to have a mini tummy tuck to fix this four and a half months later. Today, after 26 days of my surgery, when I am stand and straight my stomach look flat, honestly, I think my surgeon cut the right amount of skin to give me the right range of movement, however, when I bend my body I can see how my skin is not attached to my muscle, the skin of my stomach looks like the Shar Pei dog' skin, there is not fat, just wrinkled skin. I had the drain for 12 days and nowadayas I don't have excess of fluids and I don't know what to expected. Thanks for any comment from your part, that would be helpful.
My mother wants a tummy tuck and bbl but not to get it all together..she has a big surgery scar since she was 3 year old so she has never gone to the beach because she can show her body..she has it in her bellybutton 🦎down and side ways like a 🦎 so she doesn't have a bellybutton..she wants her tummy tuck first because 2 reasons ..1.)we want for the surgeon to concentrate on that first to get the best results and the beautiful bellybutton that she wants and the perfect incision of the tummy tuck.. 2.) I have never had a person not wake up after surgery. It is kind of impossible because as soon as the anesthetic is given your body starts to break it down and then once it is turned off your body metabolizes the remaining anesthetic--you wake up. Imagine thinking if you have some wine that you will always be drunk. Your body starts to metabolize and break down the alcohol in the wine as soon as you drink it.
I think so too. I agree, but I can tell you after years of doing this that you can be fooled. I have been many times so it is always good to have a plan B before we start with plan A. Education and expectations are vital to this job.
