Some Malaysians may say certain things about him, understandably so, but I've always had high respect for him to be able to put Malaysia on the map. Something no Malaysian politician is able to do at his level of renown.
I'm American and I have long been a fan of Dr. Mahathir of Malaysia. He is a great leader for that country. If he was running in our country, I'd vote for him in a heartbeat.

@@drwatson1234 the West used to do this to his communities back in the day. While I do not condone revenge or grudge of some sort, it is understandable why. His language, while still being strictly formal, has always been very direct, controversial and unfiltered no matter who he adresses to, even POTUS or Malaysian Kings. He used to do this all the time, he toned it down now but still does it when he thinks it is necessary to be heard. Kinda ironic that the people who look up to him the most are the Japanese, they're known to be incredibly polite but I guess they think such confrontational dynamics is required to solve dire political issues, especially Asian maritime disputes.

I love Dr Mahatir. I’m a Pakistani who admires him because of what he did in improving the lives of Malaysians 🇲🇾 I love how he stood up for what he believes in. Malaysians gave you the mandate to rule to remove the rot. Priority should be given to problems of equality, quality education system , opportunities for all , remove system of negotiated contracts, control wasteful public expenditure and install fair distribution and sharing of wealth, at home. This rot was planted when 'equality, freedom, justice' and the inherent controls that came with it were gradually dismantled since the seventies. Reinstate the original constitutional controls in order to install rule of law and not rule by men. No one should be indispensable.
