That footage is one of a kind, absolutely crazy! I was getting super nervous watching you guys get the lines from the guns wrapping around you. Very very dangerous stuff there, lucky the fish didn’t take off and nobody was hurt. Congratulations what a fish !
Respect! I could tell from watching this video alone: You have survived many encounters without benefit of air or second chances. I hope you enjoyed your treasure.
What a great shot!! I think i wouldn't take this shot with such gun and setup. Its very high risk of injure the fish and loose the gun. But you can't argue with that shot... Congratulations!
How deep were you? Nice quartering away shot and awesome for a reel gun, I don’t know if I would have taken the shot without a breakaway. Strong work and great fish!
What an amazing experience to watch! You're great! Funny how many speak about luck. Of course luck is at play when you spearfish, fish are there or they aren't. Sad that fellow fisher man are jealous instead of being happy for you :( As for me, I see skills here, lot of experience for sure. This shoot placement is not newbie done. I spearfish for 2 years and only saw such tuna twice (I'm in Croatia), never able to safely shoot them. P.S. I still think that it would be wise to have a float attached to your speargun, or a breakaway system at least =) P.S. In which country was it?
ive harpooned these guys a thousand times and after ive played them out with a rod and reel. if he misses the target, hes spooled within seconds. this was a skilled shot and i can tell you 100 ways he couldve lost that speargun. my rod and reel combo is spooled with over 1000 yards of 200lb mono thats set to a 50lb drag and is tested throughout the entire 30-120 min battle. to stun a fish with your first shot isnt easy. impressive placement for such a spur of the moment shot. that fish made all of the wrong moves, toobut i'm not taking any credit from the fisherman.
Good way to lose two guns and get your arms/legs tangled. Lucky you brained him and didn't just stun him, because that could've went south real fast. Next time swim up current to avoid tangled and wait for the boat before you start pulling him in. Never know when he'll come back to life and swim off taking you and/or the gun with him!
Сто процентов. Очень опасно подтягивать к себе такую рыбу , если она оживёт - это ☠️. Лучше подождать и сделать всё наверняка , без всяких нервов и рисков для жизни .
You guys need to be more careful with the line in the water with a fish of that size (or any fish really). Sometimes they come back to life and all it takes is 1 wrap of line around your fin/anckle and you are getting pulled down hardcore. You need to keep swimming slowly in one direction so the line stays behind you. At first I thought wow that was lucky that the fish swam by but really the luck was afterwards avoiding getting pulled.
Nice catch. I like the way your priority was to untangle the lines around fins because if the shot wasn’t good and she kicks in you would be down in a second. Great work!
