Nice gear runner.. FYI, you can also just hold the lock for like 4 second and it will start. To shut off do the opposite lol you can also leave the truck on by hitting unlock 3 times and remove the Keys from the switch and the truck will stay on without the Key in the ignition.

I have this on my 18 Platinum I also added their cell phone add on so I can start it from anywhere I have cell service. 12V makes a solid product. This and the auburn lsd was 2 of the greatest mods.

I put a similar system in my 2018 Toyota 4Runner. The crazy part about Toyota is the Tundra and 4Runner have similar dash components.

Outstanding job on the step by step with this mod. After watching I ordered the 12v solutions remote starter for my 2015 Tundra with the long range option. 20 minutes later, vroom! Thanks for the vid.

Nice install video Gear Runner! Planning to install one for the 4Runner. Its good it won't shut off as such other aftermarket remote start kit shuts off when you open the door.

You should have installed the CL6 satellite module into your remote start! They sell it as well! Worth it when your parked far at work!

Whoa, my SR5 didn’t require the plug on the passenger side. Must be something to do with Platinum. I did have to splice wire from their harness because of auto lights. I like that it opens all four doors when you hit the open button and the engine stays on.

Great mod I have a 2020 platinum and it has the auto start from the factory and as soon as I open the door it shuts off. I wonder if I could swap out the factory one with the 12v solutions? the only difference I see I have the push button start. Now waiting on the next video on the pop and lock tailgate mod. The plug and play one

Yeah I installed a remote start in my 2019 Tacoma sport and I think it’s nuts when I open the door I have to restart it.

How does this work for you now brother? Been planning to install one lately but I see many comments with issues i just want to make sure

I bought one of these on a BF sale this year and will be returning it. What a headache! I have spent 3 days working on it to try to get it connected and the module programmed. I never got a green light when programming the module no matter what I tried. I looked everywhere online for a fix. The only fix I found was one guy was told by support to snip a couple wires and wire them together. It is supposed to be a Plug and Play system!!! Snipping wires and wiring them together is not P&P, it is P&P with certain modifications done by the consumer to get it to work. On the website they say it is a 100% Plug and Play system with very few exceptions. That does not sound like a true P&P system to me. They say it will take anywhere from 30-45 mins to install. Again, I have spent the better part of 3 days on this project. It is a joke. Their support hub is also a joke. The videos that I watched for my unit were jumbled and split into different part. I had a hard time figuring out which steps were next. If my module would have worked properly I would have taken it out and reinstalled from start to finish and recorded it. I would have then put the video on YT to help others. They sell a "P&P" system but offer no tech support on the weekend. When will the average joe who works M-F likely install it? He will most likely install on the weekend because that is the time he can do it. When he runs into problems he can't get help because no one is at the office to take his call or email. After I figure in my labor and time looking online for a fix for the module I am money ahead to go to a retailer, pick one off the shelf and have them install it. I contacted support regarding my issues and was gas lit, they also attempted to manipulate by guilt to convince me to keep the unit. I do not recommend this company. Do not buy their product! Be smart, buy from a retail outlet on sale and have them install it.

Thank you for the video. I will try installing mine this weekend. I already installed one from 12volt solution son my 2019 Rav4 and it worked great. THe engine shuts off once you open the door after remote start for the Rav4, not sure if there's a way to by-pass it.

Hey Gear, here's an update for you about the remote start app. I just ordered this with the app option, not only is it not cheap! After I ordered it just read the fine print (a bit too late) they actually charge $39.00 a year to use the app/ Hell for that price it should be free in my opinion! Or am I being unreasonable?

Their site claims the engine shutoff will continue to happen because its a Toyota/Lexus feature that can't be changed. How did you get it to leave engine running on your truck?

What’s the range on remote starting. Possibly same as the unlock lock feature I’m assuming.

I have the 12V Solutions for my Tacoma it was so easy to install but being keyless it shuts off when i open the door.

What year is your truck? I think the kit is different for the 2018-2019. And another kit for the 2020.

That's my biggest complaint with my 2020 is the remote start. As soon as the door is unlocked it shuts off. And it only runs for 10 minutes.
