Born in subtropical region, there is no way for me to see snow EVER. But listening to this, I could almost feel the cold, the wind blowing on my skin. This is really amazing! I wish our choir could sing this someday.
@@natashag1593 Originally in my home country of course lol btw my first time seeing snow was also in Canada, however I am still thrilled by the beauty of nature every time I see snow.
I tear up when I hear this because we sang this is high school for the University concert and there were tears in the audience and in the choir. All choir teachers were SOBBING. I being a cold hearted person didn’t cry, but now listening to this almost 10 years later tears are falling down my face. I miss choir
Please find your local amateur choir, usually run by your city. Find your harmony again. I'm 37 and just joined choir again. Choir is for everyone in every age!
I'm singing this year in choir and I am so happy that you guys sang this! My choir teachers used this as an example on what it is supposed to sound like :D
For me the definitive version - so ethereal and every note perfect. The blend of voices is almost otherworldly. Thank you for making something beautiful
AAAAHHHHH the amazingness is melting my ears off! ever since I started choir, this has been my ultimate goal, to get into a BYU choir. this makes me want it even more.
I’m singing this song in my choir for our winter celebration and we’re having a string quartet with us. I’m so excited bc I absolutely love this piece and I’m thinking about auditioning for the solo part
I HAVEN'T SUNG IN A CHOIR IN PERSON SINCE EARLY MARCH AND IT IS SEPTEMBER. IT IS MY LIFE AND MY FUTURE. Hearing this piece I've sung as a young high schooler in Honor Choir... I'm strangely at peace.
Had the privilege of meeting Mr. Gjeilo when he visited my school in Minnesota, at least a decade ago. His music is one of my favorites to recommend and listen to, among other great artists like Eric Whitacre. Everyone else wanted to sing the Beetles, I wanted to do Ola Gjeilo music.
Very big flex to the right group of people but I was in the choir that he wrote this song for originally and he accompanied us in our performance and it was incredible. Still remember it many years later
I sang this last year for our Winter concert. It was my senior year, and little did I know it would be the last concert of my high school career. I’m currently crying. This song is so beautiful and I miss choir so much. I miss my family. I miss the safety that it brought me. I miss the place where I could relax and be myself. I miss my friends. I miss everything. It was taken from me too soon 💔
Favorite version of this piece, I love what you all did with this piece. Beautiful dynamics, I wish my choir over at CWU would do this song. You guys really do this song justice!
I sang this when I was in the OU women’s chorus. Weeks later a snow storm blankets the OU campus and I’m walking across listening to this song admiring the beauty. I’m no longer in beautiful, snowy Oklahoma but in hot, muggy North Carolina 😕 Every night I listen to this recording and close my eyes and think of the snow on OU’s campus
Language is hard to know but the sound that comes from the song is so sweet to hear. The snow is cold and their song is cool. Standing on a snow like a mighty warriors to faced against the cold of the snow. Cool is your song to give a little bit warm while standing on the snow. Amen.
I’m doing this song for the winter chorus concert at my high school and I love it, it’s so chillingly beautiful, and I get to sing all the high notes because I’m a soprano 1. Yeah
My niece sang this song like 2 days ago in her HS Christmas Choir concert. And I fell in love with the song. Listening to it now and them they sound very beautiful ❤
You are very good and Gjeilo is a truly genius! My choir sang "The Rose" and "Days of Beauty" with new arrangements, both adapting for mixed choir, with male and female voices and making spectacular videos! We were able to reach the same Gjeilo who was thrilled. Write this in the search: you will surely like them! Corale Novarmonia - Days of Beauty (O. Gjeilo) SATB Choir Corale Novarmonia - The Rose (O. Gjeilo)
Amazing! I love both the Men's Chorus and the Women's Choir. When I hear them I think of the angels and the armies of Heaven. Thank you so much for the inspiring music and the wonderful messages sung so beautifully. The video was nice too.
we sang this sing in my eighth grade uil and every single judge told us we sounded mature for our ages (choir ranged from ages 12-14) safe to say we got straight ones
Every year during the first snow of the year I listen to this song and sing along to the Alto 2 part, just like I did when I first heard this song and sang it in choir. This is one of the few songs from my choir days I still remember my part for
I was there when the women's chorus performed this for the first time. It was a transcendent experience. I have no love for BYU, the elitist arrogance of their middling music program, or the ways that Jean Applonie contributed to that culture, but damn, they've made something beautiful here.
The love of my life directed this beautiful song with his high school choir who dedicated the song to me when we first met. This October I will be walking down the aisle to this very same song. It was written in the stars 🌟
