Awesome build! That offset seems perfect, very surprised to see intact body mounts

Yeah I was surprised to not need the BMC as well. I still have the plates I bought to chop them, but haven’t needed it even after a couple years of driving/offroading.

Great build. Are you running on stock gearing? If so, are you happy with the performance of them while pushing 37s or, do you think a re-gear is needed?
@andrewsfamilyadventures

Still running on stock gearing and I am very happy with it, no plans to re-gear at this point. If we towed more with it we would, but for us, no reason to right now.

What’s the total height of your truck? I’m looking to do the same thing but it needs to fit in my garage

It is sitting right around 82”. I park it in the garage everyday and it clears by about half an inch.

I’m not sure because the shop I went to for the alignment also installed and set the spc’s. I’ll get a picture of them and maybe that can help,

Nice build. Im thinking about raising 3.5 inch front and 2 inch rear with a 0 offset rims, will I need a bmc? I have a similar front bumper like yours.
@andrewsfamilyadventures
@andrewsfamilyadventures Год назад
With a 0 offset I think you will want to do a bmc or you will likely rub a little. If you’re ok with a little rub, you can always put them on and see how bad it is before you do the bmc. What year is your Tundra?

I see you are running 18in wheels with +25 offset. However i would really like to run 17in wheels. Unfortunately method bead grip wheels in 17 only come with either 0 or +35 offset. Do you think if i ran the +35 i would have issues with clearing the upper control arm or the steering tie-rod?
@andrewsfamilyadventures
@andrewsfamilyadventures 2 года назад
On a +35 it could possibly clear the upper control arms but would likely be close. Only other issue I see would be your sway bar, you definitely wouldn’t be able to fully turn your wheel without them rubbing. It’s probably not that often that you turn it that far, but would need to consider it. This assuming you are going with a 12.5” wide tire.
@KurNorock
@KurNorock 2 года назад
@@andrewsfamilyadventures I am probably going to remove the sway bar anyway. Thanks for the reply.

@@KurNorock I am running 35x12.50s on 17x8.5 wheel w/ + 35. I do not rub the cab mount, only the front sway bar at full lock sometimes, mostly u turns. plenty of uca clearance, over an inch. my buddy running 18x9 (+25) on 35x12.50s also rubs his sway bar, but maybe not as frequently as me. hope this helps.

Nice rig, question seen your running a stock spare? Are you not too worried about actually having to use it for a couple hundred miles and messing up your drivetrain? I can patch a tire however there’s something’s you can’t fix.
@andrewsfamilyadventures
@andrewsfamilyadventures 2 года назад
I do have a 5th matching wheel and tire, and I’m currently carrying it in the bed. I kept the factory spare on in the rare case we bust two tires on the trail and need something for a short time (shouldn’t ever happen). Eventually we want to get a different way of mounting the 37” spare and you are right, definitely don’t want to be driving on that smaller tire for any length of time and put that strain on the diff.
@loosebolts4537
@loosebolts4537 2 года назад
@@andrewsfamilyadventures oh ok I’m always curious when I see someone with a non matching spare in this case you have two spare for extra redundancy which is cool.

I thought 2007-2013 were 2nd gen and 2014-2021 were 3rd gen?
@andrewsfamilyadventures
@andrewsfamilyadventures 2 года назад
There has been some confusion about this for a while as some places that sell accessories for the Tundra list the 2014-2021 as 3rd gen, but from 14 on it was actually just a refresh. Toyota set the record straight when they released promo overview videos of the 2022 referencing it as the 3rd generation Tundra.
@KurNorock

An updated grill and dash doesn't make a new generation. At best you can call the 14-21 years gen 2.5.

@MyFutt
@MyFutt 8 месяцев назад
@@GraysoffagainIf we are talking about a large heavy vehicle vs a small light vehicle in a crash then yes the large vehicle will have a higher rate of survival. But if you take ANY vehicle and simply add weight and height to it you’re doing the exact opposite. If you fill your bed with sand for example, your crumple zones will be crushed even more due to increased kinetic energy. And also increases braking distance. Lifting a vehicle raises the center of gravity which makes the vehicle harder to control and increases the chance of a roll over. Like I said heavier and taller isn’t safer. 😂 Nice rig though👍
