My biggest issue with this fucking game is that especially on boss fights, I attack and go to block before they swing and my character just doesnt block even though I’m pressing block well before I’m hit and I’m damaged…. Even when you play well this game decides to fuck you.
A cheesy method is to use the gun plus 5-10 blueberries to regen magic. He takes like 30 seconds to beat this way... Also, apparently there's a card that swaps your health potions for mana. I imagine doing that would work too. Edit: also eat a red pepper for extra damage and ivy for extra stamina (then switch back to blueberries before the fight).
Great advice, got me through the fight. The only thing I would add is to take the gun and use that for the final 25% as it should chew through it pretty easily and end the fight a little quicker. This was what worked for me.
If anyone is still struggling, all this advice holds up, however, I found using the hook AFTER an attack, pulls him off balance allowing some additional swipes. Mostly after his double swipe combo, as it's easier to avoid. Also it's key to be patient and wait for an opening. I died countless times getting greedy with attacks.
Just beat this boss a moment ago. Thanks for the guide. He was tough but fair. Had to learn his move set really well and roll right when he swings that blade. I used the magic dagger and the gun. I mostly kept distance and let him grenade a quarter of his energy away by running into his own shells.... I froze him when I needed a breath or health but made sure I got three rounds of the gun off. Doesn't seem to be a way to cheese him... Don't get greedy...
His standing double slash gives a pretty easy parry opportunity, as starting your parry right when he stops the first slash gives a pretty reliable parry on the second slash.
Great tips except its much easier to use the gun and change the healing potions to the mana ones. That does mean you have little room for error but it gets the job done much faster
Susw they updated this boss. He is 10x more aggressive with me than you in this video. You get so much more time to hit him. lol I dodge, and block but he hits me on-stop not letting me move much at all.
Funnily enough, this guy kicked my ass several times, so I ended up matching his loadout to a T (gun, firecrackers, gas mask). I also tried to fight dirty like him, corralling him into that circular ledge around the relic so he couldn't jump away. I'd also saved up my firecrackers, so I had about 20 to spare. 10 firecrackers, seven potions, and two gun blasts later, I somehow beat him.
The only boss I just chucked dynamite at because I had a surplus. He annoyed the shit outta me 😂 Think he annoyed me because I don’t play super shield heavy so I never really considered on blocking most of everything. So he’d chip me with his gun pretty hard and then get some cheapish hits off on me
it's actually the boss I parried the most in this game - his big swing (one) is telegraphed, so you can parry it right at the same speed. And as others have said, sometimes you can parry smaller swings too. (may be good you grabbed the bone card from the Quarry area)
I just did the fight. One thing you can do to get A LOT of sword hits in is to corner like. Like literally have him in the corner and be up in his face, sticking to his face. He'll keep trying to kick you, but it won't work for a while. He will do NOTHING except try to kick you.
Noticed this too, seems to be hit or miss for me. But if u get him stuck in that state, you can take away a whole life bar pretty quickly. Just not sure how to make this reliable tbh cuz sometimes he won’t go into kick animation.
Damn. Never used my shield (I actually keep forgetting about my shield most of my playthrough)! I was dodging a lot of the times and eventually I learned his patterns making it pretty fun overall. Also, trying to back him to the borders of the arena helps a lot. He doesn't like you getting close to him so try to be aggressive as possible.
I followed your guide with the blocking and sticking to his right. I thought I'd slash him in his last moments but he kind of killed himself with his own nade. Haha
I liked using the rope thing to bring him to me and get extra hits in. I also used the card that makes you do more damage at low health. I didn't even think about blocking in this fight. I realized I was playing super reckless.
My problem with this boss isnt how often it attacks, its how it dodges backwards EVERY DAMN TIME I TRY TO HIT THEM. Kiting them around the boss room is a pain in the butt just so you can get one hit in.
I found the all level frustating, and the Quarry level doesnt have a stupid checkpoint, so if u die, u have to walk for literally 10 minutes like an idiot (from the mountain) just in order to retry the area. This boss is badly balanced, you pass from "easy" difficulty to "dark souls shit" in no time, why?U can die 50 times trying to dash, and fight like a normal guy, or use the gun and blue fruit and literally detroy him... Im loving the game, but this area is poor designed.
@@ambrosauree Activating the tower thingies lets you use the checkpoints. There's a tower behind the checkpoint that's right before this boss, too. I think Ledsnake did this too early and suffered for it. Their mistake, not a mistake of the designers.
another one who can't take his bad gaming technique and blame the game itself. you can come from mountain to not walk the same amount of enemy. you also create many shortcuts. so no, you are wrong. Also this boss is very well designed and give you opportunities to learn it and defeat it.
Same question here - my fight looks like stabbing fng anrgy bull. She spams all kind of attacks in random order or get "stunned" spamming that aerial cut with square wave for 5-6-7 times in row. This fight would be easy if not that fng shotgun shot. There's almost none reaction window for that.
i wanted to like this game so bad, but the combat and boss design is honestly terrible. The exploration and atmosphere is 10/10 but damn this combat sucks
to me the garden spider thing was way easier than this one, it took me a while but eventually i learned its patterns and how to protect myself. this one is way harder, attacks are random and way too quick. not really looking forward to the third boss 😬
