Learn how to begin, tips to follow and do the fundamental steps of Entrelac. Mikey takes his time exploring this stitch as it can be complicated if the process is rushed. In this tutorial, he is using a pattern as a basis. Near the end of the tutorial, he will show you how to make straight edge borders if you wish as well. Follow the pattern at: thecrochetcrow...

Thanks for 'keepin' it real' and making new stitches/patterns easier to follow.

Thanks for this! I’m making one now, it’s looking fab. I did a bit of practise with some scrap yarn first as I wanted to use DK yarn and a smaller hook (5.5mm). Of course, a 5x5 square was too small so I did 10x10 (starting with a chain of 12 to account for the edges of each square). That’s given me a 2 inch square. I also found that pulling through two all the way across, (rather than pulling through the first one then two until the end) gives a much neater join to the surrounding squares.

I just want to get these thoughts out while I watch this for the thousandth time. If you're using one color, it seems that you still need to bind off, snip the yarn and start again a new corner, because this is not a true "round". Also, Mikey says it doesn't matter what corner you start in, but how can that be if the idea is to have the grains going in opposite directions? And if anyone is looking for tutorials, is is the best one I've seen so far. Those 2 and 3 minute ones are not teaching you anything--they're just advertising someone's website for patterns. I wish Mikey would do a follow up to this video!

Hey Mikey, I LOVE YOU!!! You are so patient with us and showing the stitches, patterns, and ideas. What border would you suggest to uncurl a entrelac blanket?
@crazycowemma
@crazycowemma 6 лет назад
After you’ve done the half squares to square off the blanket, perhaps do a round of double crochet (that’s treble crochet in the UK) in the same colour as the half squares and then pick a contrasting colour and do a round or two in that? Don’t forget to add an extra stitch or two in each corner when you are edging the blanket or it will pull the edges in.
