❤ AMAZING! thanks for this tutorial, great for a beginner like me. How come this video is 3 years old? I barely discover your tutorials like 3 months ago and I'm fascinated on how easy and pretty quilts are in your tutorials, thanks again 😊
😍😍So sorry I am just catching this .I am trying to catch up on the comments. Will do better in the future. Thanks for watching our lives. We appreciate it !!!!!!
Thanks for saying this -- I just came here looking for tips on how to place the smaller piece accurately. My "just eyeball it!" method is not turning out well...
Pretty sure you could. If your fat quarter is 18x22 You can get two 10” squares (to cut diagonally)and two to three 7” squares out of it. Cut the 7” ones diagonally to get the smaller triangle needed. You won’t get that little extra strip Teancum got when he cut down the second triangle ( the piece he said it could be used as binding) Looks like you would get enough pieces out of a FQ to make 4 blocks. You’ll still need to have the accent strip fabric.
Cut a 10” strip by width of fabric and subcut into two 10” squares. Then from the remaining piece (should be 8” wide by WOF) cut a 7 “ strip by width of fabric and sub cut into two 7” squares. These will be cut diagonally to give you the smaller 7” triangle. Not really that much waste. You could cut the remaining fabric into strips for “some”of the binding but you’ll still need a more to get it long enough. Depending how big you want to make the quilt will decide how many blocks you’ll need. If you want a 5x7 block quilt then you’ll need 35 blocks. Since you’ll get 4 blocks from each FQ you’ll need 9 FQs (plus the accent fabric strips).
Great quilt, but it would be better for your demos, if you acknowledge your mistakes. The white block in that row was turned the wrong way. We all make mistakes. We're human.
