I was 16 when he died. I didn't listen to his music but I remember everyone at my high school was buzzing about it. It took a few years before everyone understood the talent that was lost that day.
We lost so many ICONS in the 90s Kurt Cobain(1994) Selena (1995), Eazy E (1995), Biggie Smalls (1997), and Tupac (1996) these ICONS would have shifted music in a bigger way if they had more time.

You're right. Pac was born in New York and then moved to California later in his life. So Pac in a way was the bridge between West Coast rap and East Coast rap.
