To any women reading this i got nothing but love and respect for y'all, keep ya head up👸 Edit: 2 years later. To those that find this comment and reply, again, you're welcome;) And to those who feel like they're "nothing", you're not. We all have a purpose in this world and meaning in our lives, i believe we were born for a reason, so fight every day until you find it. I know y'all can ❤️
This song Literally got me through the worst time in my life ....a teenage mom with a abusive baby daddy. This song made me feel like I could get through it. Tupac saved me in a crazy way.
I made it through guys my abuser is far in my past. Thank you for all the love 💕 this song was on the radio and in my tape player when this was happening.
This song is so quintessentially Tupac. It represents everything his rap was about. The amazing beats, the socially groundbreaking lyrics, and emotional impact. Can you imagine Biggie making a song about respecting women? Or Jay-Z, or Nas, or any of the other greats? He made this track on the same album as hit em up, the most brutal diss track of all time that was basically a musical death threat. His social awareness and compassion for others clash with his gangster lifestyle, and that lifestyle ultimately took his life. I wasn't even alive at the time he died, yet I connect with his decades old music. I'm sad his career was tragically shortened but appreciative of all of the amazing music he put out. Despite all his flaws, I feel that the world is a worse place without him in it.
"Time to heal our women, be real to our women And if we don't we'll have a race of babies That will hate the ladies, that make the babies." this has come to fruition
brandon hall That’s why I play this song for my 6 year old niece and 11 year old nephew. It’s never too young to learn that women deserve respect, and men should give it. Always makes me annoyed seeing male politicians brushing off women’s issues as if they forgot the only reason they are able to stand there and brush off women’s issues is because a woman brought them into this world. I also think his attitude of acknowledging shit sucks and the deck is stacked against so many based on the color of your skin, your neighborhood, poverty, etc. but deciding you gotta keep fighting to survive and look towards hope is important for everyone but especially kids. I wish I was a little more prepared for how shitty life really was because it can hit you hard! This song should be required education!
it also is sad how women are being taught to take advantage of men, it's a reality that healthy relationships are harder to come by for both parties and it seems that both are suffering from selfishness
@Humpu Lumpu true bro, honestly the type of women pac talks about dont exist no more, and everything youre saying is right. Equality means no benefits just cause ur a woman. Equality means women have to work tough physical jobs just like men do. Equality isnt to just have women in IT and in politics, and to make a divorce always beneficial for women. Fuck it. I aint gonna marry a fuckin single mom no matter what. I doubt that i should ever get married
@@tbt714 Perhaps peter wasn't clear enough. Shit was bad than Shit still be bad now. Pac aint talkin bout the pres be Trump He be talkin bout Poverty and war. something we always had.
@@pariss3921 does it really matter? all women go through shit because of men, maybe he only thought about his race when he wrote this but these word are beyond that. its poetry
@@hanaphobia8472 yes it matters because black woman go through more than any other woman in America. You must never heard of the quote or speech back in the day when they said “Black woman is the most disrespected people in America” which is one of the reason why he made this song. And the song wasn’t made to be “poetry” it was made on how black woman is treating towards others communities

I am a 56 yr old white lady and love this man. He saw people wronged and really tried to fix it. Tupac was a master poet. Should have been a pulitizer prize winner. All he ever told was the truth and its all in his beautiful music RIP Pac. You are loved by so many
"Forgive but don't forget, girl keep your head up. And when he tells you "you ain't nothing", Dont believe him. And if he cant learn to love you, you should leave him."
I am a grocery store manager. The other day I bought a lunch for a homeless woman and her young son who didn't have enough money of their own. The woman told me she couldn't pay me back and I told her not to worry about it, it was my pleasure. As we were talking, this song came over the intercom and that line "They got money for war but can't feed the poor" resonates with me so hard. As long as our government wants to make a Space Force, don't tell me we can't take care of our homeless in my home city of Dallas, give New Orleans decent hurricane protection and rectify the Flint water crisis
+riskrask 33 it would be nice if Pac were alive and well out there somewhere. Truth is if he were alive he couldn't stay quiet this long. Money alone wasn't what motivated him to succeed at being a rap artist. If it were the money he was after then he would've pursued acting, not music. He chose rap music because he needed his voice to be heard. He truly felt it was his responsibility to help those who are disadvantaged, regardless of circumstances. He thought of himself as a soldier and a born leader. He definitely would have a lot to say about the escalating level of fraud going on in America right now.. And he's not capable of biting his tongue. The fact that it's been two decades and still no word.. That's proof that he's really gone.
You know, I’m sorry to all women for what men make you go through. I’m a guy and I don’t understand people who are full of lust and hate. I may not fully understand what you are going through, but I’m here for you. And I believe in you. Stay strong.
Thanks for saying so... I've spoken to men who are like this and they'll mention women who were like that to them first. It's an immature competition where they come up with an excuse to treat people like crap just to vent their every emotion onto a woman. My eyes have been opened, since then, to the many women who are really harmful to men, but it doesn't mean men should treat other women like this. It keeps the harmful cycle going. I live in a hard place where I don't know anyone, including myself, who was able to stay married, except my grandparents. They were such an inspiration I kept acting like a lovely bride until a man came along who wanted to be a husband. He had addictions and no job when I talked to him about my life style and why I chose it. He's been working, clean and we've been together almost two years now. I reminded him how I came from the same place as him and how alone I am being who I am in this place, but that I'll be who I am no matter what and not allow drugs, opinions, or culture define me. He is such a loving and pure person. I am so happy he dug himself out of that mud - quite literally- and washed himself off and has been living a good life, even if it's still hard where we're from.
Sorry Bro but i have to disagree with that. He was a Human like all our sisters and brothers. He made mistakes like all of us. It's no secret how anyone could be a better Human. There are only excuses for being bad. I hope you understand me, sorry for my bad english and greetings from Germany! 😉
“And since a man can’t make one, he has no right to tell a woman when and where to create one.. REAL MEN STAND UP” F*ck the SCOTUS. We got your back, Queens 💯
Americas basically fucked. Trying to force more births to replace the loss of kids being shot rather than adjusting the gun laws so children and mental people dont have easy access to firearms
Lol. That's probably because Tupac really tried his best to have a positive effect on the community and was around for years. TBH, I never heard of XXX until he got killed and personally can't stand his music or the type of person he was. (Although I like him more than Lil Xan but that's not saying much.)
That line in this song reminds me of a line in one of Tracy Chapman's songs that says "why are the missiles called peace keepers, when they're aimed to kill." So true, and so much truth in great music, but a lot of people listen to the beat rather than the words to a song - a profound song - and Tupac and Tracy (and others) had things to SAY in their music. It wasn't just a cute little poem made into a song. IT WAS ABOUT REAL LIFE. :(
That's right. I'll be sent to active countries soon. Like Iraq or Afganistan, i dont even know, but i gotta go and do that, cause that's the law - join army or some kind of university.
I love you pac ❤️ I swear when going through as a single abandoned mother and woman your lyrics motivate me daily and of course our Heavenly Father guides me I keep my head up
Imagine the world now if Pac lived... Its heartbreaking, this kid was way before his time.. Pure Genius & I wish he could have seen Barack! Still relevant & never forgotten.. RIP Sweet boy..
reminds me of me man been trough so much and still going through it I'm going through it now all my life I wondered why me bro I'm just 13 why do I have to see and hear this
You could be a middle aged rich upper class white man and still understand tupac. He's up there with people like Bob Marley in terms of appeal to everyone
So true! I'm a tiny white girl that has lived in bad and good areas and Tupac is by far my favorite performer there is! I love him and his messages so much! There have been times in my life that his words were the only thing 2 pull me through. I owe the man my life, no pun intended. God bless everyone!
Pac is the only one who truly understands ... 🖤! He sings everything I need to hear, right in the time when no one’s there for me.. that’s just... beautiful 🖤!
I believe minorities were setup to fail in the US that’s why you see a lot of us in ghettos going to schools that don’t teach us anything about how the world works it’s all on purpose to sabatoge us
Really breaks my fucking heart to realize that PAC released this incredibly powerful song in October of 1993 and just a month later he would be FALSELY accused of rape in November.. We miss you Black Jesus🙏🙏🙏
My break up song. This song heals me nothing else does. When he says, "if he can't learn to love you then you should leave him. Cause sista you don't need him", I feel SO empowered. Might be dying inside but outside looking fearless. I hear this, and even though I want to look down and cry, I wipe my tears and keep my head up. Gone but still making a difference. R.I.P Tupac
my ex fiancé left me when i told him i was pregnant. this song makes me have hope. trying to keep my head up everyday edit: i had my baby! he’s the most beautiful boy and i feel lucky everyday
Keep your head up. I am Brazilian and left Brazil amidst unemployment, economic chaos nearly 30 yrs ago. Came to the UK with my two kids to try to give them a better future . Their dad never helped there and never helped here. Today looking back looking back, it was worthy, even when things got scary. As long you keep your head up, and be strong, you will win it. Wishing you all the best in life.
It's good he left, because if he stayed it would have been heartache and headache for you and your boy. You're strong without him. You'll find someone someday that's worth your love and that'll love your family in return. Just got to keep your head up.
@@lustpositive literally the song is for black women’s . He says it in the song and he says it in his interviews . If you was any smart you would search up who “keep your head up” about or watch his interviews. He literally gives you hints on who he’s talking about . Stop tryna get include into stuff
Little boys should listen and learn from him ,he's the kinda person they should look up to... Like the people who actually listen to him are the best ever ,please god lemme meet one
I can't believe this isn't the music that is playing 24/7 on the radio. I found one station. What man lifts up his own and women with him?? Tupac does!
He is the one and only rapper who always talk about racism, equality, police brutality, helping poor and healing our women thats why he was the best rapper, poet, activist and revolutionary RIP TUPAC SHAKUR YOUR MUSIC AND INTERVIEWS CHANGE MY WHOLE LIFE🙏🖤
i took a class in college and the professor was talking about poetry and then he started playing 2pac and said, and i quote "This Is Real Poetry and just like Dr Seuss Books, This Man Is Telling a story" and i have to agree he is, in Most if not All Of His Songs.
I've been a fan since the since he 1st came out during the late 80's, but became popular during the early 90's. Congratulations on discovering a great artist, poet, activist, humanitarian, educator and philosopher.
Why would anyone want to kill such a big dreaming, loving man with so much respect for other people! He created such beautiful pieces of poetry. He had gangster rap toned downed just enough were he could just openly express his thoughts and feelings on problems of the world. I still can't find out why someone would kill such an open hearted man. Rest In Peace Tupac
My brother always played this for me because my ex of 18 yrs was abusive, I got a custom bikini done that says keep your head up on the bikini top on the left and other side has Tupac's face and the bum has "tupac" on it, I get soo many compliments when I wear it, always loved Tupac, raised my 3 girls listening to him, my kids are 29, 27 and 20, they still love him
•Penguin Love• Lol my baby daddy has a friend who went to a hotel party in cali and tupac literally said to all the women "If you aint fucking or sucking then you need to leave" and she a few girls left anf we're gonna assume whoever stayed helped tupac and his boys out that night 😂. Hero worship all you want but he was a womanizer.
This song is my absolute favorite from him !!! So much respect for us women and honeslty this song is exactly what we are going though now in this world 🌎 he was so right our kids have no hope for the future the way this is going 😭 RIP TuPac (the only #1)
R.i.p. to the great all mighty legend tupac. Hands down the best rapper that ever lived. He influenced me and many others in decisions, he is my role model, he has helped millions through the rough life and achieved so much. If tupac was still alive, there would have been no fetty wap, drake or justin beiber. Please someone out here release tupacs vibe in rap again, todays rap is nothing but trash... tupac, we need you.
There is only two modern rappers than can some what touch Tupac and Common and that's J Cole and Kendrick Lamar but still they aren't as poetic as Common and Tupac
He was so intellectual. Heard this song for the first time when I was about 8 or 9. Didnt know what I was rapping back then, but I do now, and it just fills my heart with pain and happiness all at once. TuPac was a true artist man!
This song saved my life. I'm not a woman but I was a homeless man not doing what I was supposed to do for my self. My spirit was weakening everyday. This song told me to stand up and find a purpose. Most of all, it told me my time was more precocious than all the negative things I thought about that made me quiter.
