PTE turbos don't last like they should, especially the amount of money they go for. Had a SC61 back in the days and it went bad about 10 months after install.

Great video man, kinda want anyones 2 cents. I recently got a 1988 crx for cheap cuz the owner thought it was messed up bad but it just needed a head gasket. Replaced and runs decent. Was wondering what kinda swap I should do!? I have a b18a1 that I got awhile back from a friend but what would I need or should I go something else? Just want some more power

Depends on your budget bro . How much are you looking to spend and how much horsepower are you trying to make ? That will let you know what kind of swap best fits your budget and needs . I’m doing an ls/Vtec on my crx right now still work in progress 💯

I'd say if you already have the B18 use it. It'll be a more powerful & faster car straight away and you can always upgrade to an LSvtec, B20V, turbo etc after you're bored and have saved some funds.

Fabian Martinez for sure bro check out my Instagram oscar_the_carpenter . It’s a 1990 Honda crx Hf . I used 1996 b18b1 block and a Vtec gsr head from a 1996 . So far I have spent over 5500.00 . I replaced mostly everything new .

Fabian Martinez my goal is 220hp all motor no turbo . No nitrous . With working ac. I did machine work to the block and head and also upgraded everything internal like connecting rods , pistons , springs and retainers , valve seals etc...

I believe the thicker gasket is for heat transfer to prevent cracking near bolt holes with heavy heat cycling...probably because the material they took off for the header mount(less material=cheaper cost to build).
