The most under rated and understated of all Porsche racing cars. Also arguably the most successful but without the cult following of cars like the 917 and the Sauber C9, who seems to care? The 956/962 was a fantastic car. It was fast and extremely reliable and with excellent braking and handling. It didn't stand out in any one area and I think that's why it goes unnoticed.
fastest endurance car on the planet, NO ONE . IMAGINE IF STEFAN BELLOF DRIVE THIS¿ :( _ _ ,, off; think this car is from team joest 93, driven by the GIANT pescarolo henry
@@danigonzalez4299 That's what I meant. The drivetrain helps too. It's a lot more efficient. Bet it's true: 80% of progress in modern teams involves aerodynamics.
No, in 1998 Le Mans was not a part of the FIA championship. The ACO (organizers of the race) ran to their own rules that ran both the GT-1 cars with the Sports Prototypes. It was only in the past few years that Le Mans once again became a part of the WEC championship
you do realise the Mazda 787 copied the aerodynamic principles of its design from the Porsche 962/956, there was nothing particularly ground breaking or innovative about the 787, it's main advantage and the ONLY reason it won Lemans in 1991 was because of it reliability.
