Larry's laugh is life-affirming. I love to watch this video once every couple of months or so.

This is easily one of my favourite Ashens videos. The board game videos are always top tier but this is far and beyond any of the others because of that fucking ice field.

Question: Why can the grey cars not move on the ice field? Surely the warped physics there would allow them to move, despite their being glued to the track?

I played a racing board game a few years ago. I think each player had a peg board that was their "gear shift" and that's what determined how many spaces they went. If I remember correctly, the corner lanes had gear markers and if your current gear was higher than the lane you were traveling on you had to move diagonally away from the inside curve. If that meant you would go off the track you would carsh. It was pretty cool.

I was feeling really depressed so went and rewatched this, and I'm so glad I did. Something genuinely lovely about watching two mates trying to play a board game and have a laugh. Also, Larry's laugh is a thing of beauty. ❤️

I know why the ambulance is driving so well, Sabine Schmitz is at the wheel. Also while in the ice field your movement can only be expressed as an irrational number.

So Turbo's creators took a simple route, and let players determine physics for each other, to create the most unforgiving system possible while appearing to write fair rules. That's incredible.

I had this game. Not really a whole lot to it. I did enjoy how all semblance of physics and realism go straight out the window during the ice section. The ambulance made a little bit more sense in the arcade game, since it wasn't a closed track. True to ambulance behavior, it would come up behind you and make no attempt to avoid hitting you. I forgot you could move the opponents cars.

I'd like to see ashens play cards against humanity!

I actually have a much better executed version of this game with NASCAR instead of Formula 1 called Race Day. It's sort of a TCG, with different drivers to collect and cars to build, and the gameplay is highly detailed, with the playmats being real tracks, various situations resulting in rolling for stat checks, and the ability to damage/total your car or run out of fuel. It's rather slow for a board game sometimes, but the attention to detail is fantastic.

Ahhh when Ashens had hair and Larry was rotund.

Larry earnestly suggesting to hold the spinners over the ice field to counteract gravity caught me completely off guard and made me burst out laughing. He just starts saying it like its going to be a perfectly reasonable suggestion, and you can hear Stewart go quiet to listen to him before he realises he's talking shite

Remember, never move the car backwards out of the ice field, or reality will snap back to normal and your car will implode due to the proportions of the ice fields altered reality being inverse to our own. -This has been a public service announcement.

Ashens and larry are a great duo, really enjoyed this review.

Does anyone else find it kind of entertaining to hear Ashens laugh really hard? He hardly laughs on his reviews and it's slightly disorienting but amazing at the same time.

About the whole law thing, it's because it would be beastiality if it was live, and necrophelia if it was human, and we don't have any laws on necrophelic beastiality.

@LarryBundyJr I think the length of the video adds to it the comedy and confusion while you guys scratch your heads bewildered at the instructions for said game. Like the ice part of the track where physics and game balance go out the window. It really does emphasizes just how ridiculous the game is. I mean you guys playing is funny too but the instructions, seriously they've been pretty bonkers.

Talking about the (potential) Gran Turismo 5 board game made me think of an interesting experiment. Set up two shops close by to each other. Have one shop sell something as one piece, but at a decently high price. Have the other sell the same thing, but in several pieces, and have the total price be less than the first shop (although not so much lower that it becomes obvious it's cheaper). See what sells more.
