When my dad worked at a farm in the 90’s they used david browns and fiats. He had a 90-90 on the trailer forager and another 90-90 and the 1390 were carting. He used a 110-90 to push the silage on the clamp. My dad used the 1390 and they used to sit on the silage trailer when it was full to go home and eat there dinner.
Ah, happy memories. Used to do a similar thing sitting on top of the small hay bales on the flatbed trailer with my uncle shouting up “Make sure they’re stacked properly, I don’t want any falling off!” Never mind me and my younger brother! 90-90, 110-90 and DB 1390 all great tractors, many thanks for watching and your comment. Regards Dave.
Yes, a solid dependable tractor although without the bells and whistles only requires regular maintenance with good oil and a set of spanners, not a laptop! Thanks for watching and your comment Denis, much appreciated. Dave
They are a great tractor, good old school 6-cylinder bark to the engine and never seem to run out of power! Thanks for watching and your comment Jerome, much appreciated. Dave
Fiat's and fiat agri's great tractor back in the 80's and 90's when I was in my teenage years the 1280 and 110/90 looked absolutely huge..my personal favourite in the 80's was the 890 DT..and in the 90's would have been the 110/90..just something about the Fiat's were beautifuly designed and the tune them turbo's played were raspy and sounded amazing..👌🚜👍I wasn't sure about the f series fiat agri's or new Holland's the early one's yes when they still had the fiat design diamond shape cab and long square bonnet ..but the old skool bright orange with white stripe running down the sides of the cab..and 90 series terracotta colour scheme were the most beautifulist badass one's 🤩🚜👌👍 long live king's of cool tractors Fiat's 🤩🚜💕👌
Hi Damien. Yes agree with you on all counts especially about the 1280 and 110/90 looking huge as back in the late 80 to mid 90s a 6-cylinder 100hp machine was still classed as a big tractor in my area. Yes the design still looks great today and I reckon a turbo 100/110-90 with 140 -150hp would see off a modern 200hp tractor. I didn’t mind the F-series, they were still a good solid tractor, as for the blue 110-90s, it’s debatable if the colour suited them but I still liked them and would love to see one at work. Many thanks for watching and your comment, it’s much appreciated. Cheers, Dave.
Hi Leeroy. I haven’t at the moment as I missed first cut this season due to the dodgy weather which meant a bit of a rush job! Hopefully though I’ll make 2nd cut in about a months time when I can film the Fiat again as It’s such a great outfit to see working the flesh! Many thanks for watching and your comment. Cheers, Dave.
Yeh, the Iveco 6-cylinder is a great engine. So much torque and what a bark it has to it! Thanks for watching Sean and your comment. Much appreciated Dave
@@davidwinthrop7077 my Dad had exclusively David Browns in the 1970s. His first Fiats was a 1980 680H and new cabbed 780DT. In 1978 he needed something more powerful than a DB 1410. Tried a MF 595, didn't like the linkage. He bought IH 1055, a great machine. When it came to replacement no question Fiat 980 DT. Then 110/90, then another additional 110/90. Allegience changed to SAME around 1993 but always kept the 110/90s right up till recently. Never really bettered.
@@seancooke4127 I totally agree with you there and if they still made them today they would sell like hot cakes but as we all know the emissions and ad-blu put an end to that. The Sames were great tractors too, take it they were 6-cylinder Antares, Titans or Iron series? Your dad was obviously impressed with Italian engineering.
@@davidwinthrop7077 1993 70 2WD Explorer, 1994 100/4. Then 6 cylinder Antares, 6 cylinder Huirlimann (same thing), 6 cylinder Iron. Alongside these 80/90, 85/90, Lamborghini 60, 2x case 1294s, 1394 4WD (1985/1986). Always had an MF 35 and an MF 135, very useful. Dad's now retired and has a 1957 Ferguson Copper Belly and a 1970 David Brown selectamatic for fun.
@@seancooke4127 They would have been great to see back then. Quite a few rare ones nowadays like the Explorer 70, Lamborghini 60, even the Case 1294s, long time since I’ve seen one of those..
It’s just over 150 on the shaft so probably 160-165 engine power. Sorry can’t give the owners name away but it was filmed in Southern Scotland last year.
@@davidwinthrop7077 intresting. Would like to get 140 hk i my 5060 and see how it works.. but its a shame that i dont have a fendt vario. The vario would work a lot faster with the JF
Hi Anita. The farm has a Fiat/ McCormick/ MF fleet but one of the neighbours has a couple of Same machines that I could possibly arrange to cart trailers this coming season. Thanks for your comment and subscribing, it’s much appreciated. Dave
Paul O'Connell Cheers Paul, it was good to see and hear them working together. Hopefully get back there in 2021! Thanks for watching and your comment. Much appreciated.
