When she tell him to drink she spills in ground because kosem doesn’t want to bow down infront turhan obvious she is the queen before him and she is elder . Though Kosem is one of my favorites, I don't hate Turhan for killing her. Turhan suffered a lot of disgrace in the hands of Ibrahim and he almost accidentally killed her son. She had to do what any mother had to to protect her child. Plus, she didn't even kill the other children who were competition to her own child. She didn't want to sacrifice innocent children and wasn't that what Kosem had started with?

No Dear, Kosem may have believed that she was protecting the empire but after Murad and Ibrahim she had lost the pot. She was going to kill one child to replace him with another child purely to continue her grip on power. In fact, it was the vicious cycle of the last 50 years of the Sultanate of Women Period that produced ineffectual Sultans for the Sultanas to rule through. And Yet the Sultanas could not completely replace the Sultan either causing a descent into corruption, military failures and overall decline in Ottoman power.

So, while I didn't exactly like Turhan, I actually like what happened to the ring. It starts out being a symbol of love from Suleiman to Hurrem but is ruined when Nurbanu takes it for her own selfish purposes. If I remember correctly, Hurrem swore that if the ring was ever taken from her that it would bring nothing but sorrow and pain to the wearer. Nurbanu: Was poisoned, her influence over Murad was weak due to Mihrimah's timely intervention, and she ended up dying in pain. Safiye: Lost her husband, her sons, her daughters, and eventually her own life. Kosem: Lost her husband, her sons and daughters, and due to her own lust for power, was killed. I like to think that when Turhan took the ring for herself, she broke that curse. She took the ring not because she wanted it, she took the ring because she saw it as a symbol. A symbol of power that could protect her son (and his brothers) until they came of age. I like to think that this is, at least in the show, why Turhan's reign was far more peaceful Kosem's.
Please read her history. Kosem and Ibrahim pushed the innocent Turhan to the edge where she lost her dignity every day. She rooks revenge on the many women who were assaulted by Ibrahim and Kosem didn't give them justice. Hurrem Sultan would be proud of Turhan.
@@Brit626 You said "I didn't exactly like Turhan" so I made a statement saying why she shouldn't be disliked also the ring has no role in history. In the series, the ring when passed down to Turhan became a symbol of justice along with the red dress she was wearing.
Are you talking about the series or in real life? Because I am almost 100% certain that Murad adored his mother, he loved her so much, he respected her. Murad was the one who officially made the title of Valide Sultan official, making Nurbanu the first official Valide Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, it is said that he even banished Safiye, and when his mother died; he grieved severely, gave Nurbanu a funeral worthy of a Sultan, and buried her next to his father, Sultan Selim.
