I lived in Turkey for 3 years 2015-2018 and I must say I enjoyed all their music outside of pop music, I love damar, turku is unbelievably catchy, arabesque is very melodramatic and magical, and their Rock oh my god, but I must confess that I love Tarkan's music ,some of his songs I hate, but overall I love his voice and performance, I don't understand why he never represented Turkey in Eurovision.

1990 😍 1997 🧡 2010 - my favourite Turkish entry! Despite being German I wanted Turkey to win that night! But I also like MFÖ (yeah, sucker for 80s music), Athena and Hadise was pretty good too!

The years 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 is the golden years of Turkey. But that is my personal opinion.

1997: Amazing, it’s either between this or Ireland as my favorite that year. 2003: Amazing, much better than Belgium. 2004: Really good, my 2nd that year. 2005: Alright, gets way too much hate. 2006: Awful 2007: Alright, really overrated (4th really?) 2008: My favorite from Turkey 2009: Amazing 2010: Should have won 2011: Ugly staging 2012: 7th is good for this song

Sebnem in 1997 my all time favourite Turkish entry.

Deli in 2008 is an awesome, amazing rock song. Dinle in 1997 is by far the best turkish entry and one of the best ESC songs of all time! "Every way that I can" doesn't even come close to it. As for Dum Tek Tek, just no, no, NO! Never. Sebnem Paker is a goddess compared to Adise.

For Real was my winner of 2004, definitely one of my favourite Turkish entries.

One of the most underrated countries in Eurovision- at least before they became a Eurovision powerhouse during the 00s. My favs are 75, 89 (epic), 96, 97 (masterpiece), 00, 03, 04, 06, 08 (LOVE), 10, 12

Şebnem Paker's "Dinle" is one of my favourite song ever. Not only ESC.

In 2001, for the first time I bought the Eurovision song contest on CD. Before that, I hadn't even noticed the performance of Tukey and Sedat Yüce during the show, he let me totally indifferent. And suddenly, on record, "Sevgiliye Son" became one of my favorite "Eurovision song" for ever !

petrol is my favorite song ever. always get angry that it was so underated. ajda pekkan gave amazing hypnotic performance and i think its the best song in the freakin history. also very love tugba onal with don artik. also underated masterpiece.

I want to back Turkey again !!

2010 was my favorite as it was doing something a little bit different than say a pop song or a ballad. Turkey always brought their own charm and they didn't care where they placed. I do hope they come soon. I know some of the former contestants from Turkey want to come back. The ones that usually are in charge of the broadcasting company there, mentioned that the win of Austria 2014 was one of the reasons that they aren't coming back. I can understand that Conchita's win was something that no one was expecting, but to blame her for them not coming back? Come on here.

When you said the 2010 manga had winner written all over them I laughed out loud while crying because i relate to it soooo much! That was such a shame they came second!

12:13 it is not a lady's underwear. That is what your -naughty- mind thougt. It is just a cloth and the dance is called "halay". During the halay, everyone holds hands and dance together. But the person who is at the end of the group holds a cloth as there is no one to hold hand. That's a cultural item, not a naughty object as it came to your mind.

I think no other country has taken it that much seriously as Turkey. Maybe that's why she left. And my personal opinion is also that eurovision has lost its old quality.

It's sad that if maNga had won in 2010 I'm almost sure we would still have Turkey at Eurovision. Now, I love Lena and her quirkiness, and I REALLY loved her host country entry, but to me maNga were the deserved winners then, and I'm sad I won't get Turkish rock back at ESC. It's between 2010 with Turkey and 2015 with Russia (Heroes always felt like the weakest Sweden win, and just kinda meh. Easy lisyening pop with pretty graphics, but not my cup of tea for a winner) for the ESC result I feel that most robbed an act, and more important stunted a major participant.

I agree with most of these as a Turkish guy but I wanna have some exceptions: 1. Your opinions are great but I can't stand Opera and Şarkım Sevgi Üstüne in my taste. 2. The songs that I think were great was: Everyway That I Can, We Could Be the Same, Dinle and For Real. 3. They were absent in 1976 because of the Greek entry having a controversial setup to the War between Cyprus, Greece and Turkey. They were absent again in 1977 for unknown reasons that I might not mention. They were supposed to participate in 1979 with the song "Seviyorum" by "Maria Rita Epik and 21. Peron" but the Arab countries compelled the government to withdraw because of the host country being in a state of war. They were absent in 1994 because their song in 1993 "Esmer Yarim" was placed 21st. They are now absent because of Conchita Wurst (Because they don't like bearded divas) and The Big Five (I don't know why but maybe It's because that they always qualify automatically). 4. They broadcasted Eurovision from 1973 to 2012. Apparently they're not broadcasting because of children being awake at night to see the show (The main reason in my opinion is that it might include inappropriate stuff like the lesbian kiss in the 2013 Finnish entry "Marry Me" 5. The songs that I think were sucked was: Şarkım Sevgi Üstüne, Opera, Live it Up and Rimi Rimi Ley. I hope your opinion matters to me.

I never liked 1997. I mean, it's enjoyable, but also really overrated, both by the fandom and in the contest. 3rd place? no... Best Turkish entry? No. But it's not bad and her voice is amazing. I liked her entry in 1996 better, way better! 2010 SHOULD HAVE WON!!!! If Turkey comes back one day, they should team up with Manga

2006 was the worst, it was very repetitive through out the song and annoying. So i hated it too. My favourite entry was manga’s song. Absolutely loved the song and had a good meaning to it.
